Accountant
AFC Industries is a dynamic organization dedicated to providing supply chain management solutions for fasteners and assembly components. The Accountant will be responsible for handling month-end close, reconciliations, general reporting, and assisting with Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable as needed.
Responsibilities
- Timely and accurate completion of the month-end close process in accordance with GAAP, including journal entries and balance sheet reconciliations
- Safeguard assets and ensure accurate and timely recording of all transactions by implementing disciplines of internal audits, controls and checks across all departments
- Assist with the annual audit by providing required information and responding to requests from the auditors
- Focus on continuous improvement of the accounting processes
- Assist with daily/weekly reporting
- File sales tax returns as necessary
- Other duties as assigned
Skills
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting
- Minimum of 1 to 2 years of relevant accounting work experience, preferably in a distribution, manufacturing, or another high-volume transaction environment
- Strong analytical skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word
- Ability to prioritize tasks, multitask and meet tight deadlines when necessary
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Good inter-personal skills and collaborative approach
- Experience working with an Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system
