California Correctional Health Care Services is recruiting for a Legal Analyst position within the Department of Financial Protection and Innovation. The role involves routine paralegal duties, supporting investigations and litigation across various courts, and preparing legal documents and correspondence.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for routine paralegal duties for the Enforcement Division
  • Support investigations and litigation in state court, federal court, administrative court, bankruptcy court, and appellate courts
  • Prepare preliminary case reports and pleadings
  • Analyze and research designated legal issues
  • Independently prepare correspondence to complainants
  • Assist in trial and deposition preparation
  • Attend and assist at trials, hearings, and depositions

Skills

  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the US without the need for a visa sponsorship or a training plan, now or in the future
  • Possession of Minimum Qualifications (MQ's) will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment
  • If you are meeting MQ's with education, you must include your unofficial transcripts showing completion of required coursework for verification
  • Official transcripts may be required upon appointment
  • Current version of the State Examination/Employment Application STD Form 678 (when not applying electronically), or the Electronic State Employment Application through your Applicant Account at www.CalCareers.ca.gov
  • All Experience and Education relating to the Minimum Qualifications listed on the Classification Specification should be included to demonstrate how you meet the Minimum Qualifications for the position
