As a division of a Fortune 500 organization, arenaflex combines the stability of a large enterprise with the agility of a tech‑focused startup. Our mission is to empower dental professionals with intuitive, cloud‑enabled tools that improve patient outcomes, streamline workflows, and drive practice growth. With a people‑first philosophy, arenaflex invests heavily in employee development, diversity, and a collaborative culture that celebrates curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement.

Why This Role Matters

Our Practice Management Software Team is building the next generation of browser‑based applications that will redefine how dental specialists manage their practices. As a Remote Software Engineer, you will be at the heart of this transformation, shaping the architecture, user experience, and performance of a platform that serves thousands of users nationwide. This is a unique opportunity to work on high‑impact projects, influence product direction, and grow alongside a seasoned team of engineers, product managers, and domain experts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and maintain robust, scalable software applications that meet evolving business requirements.
  • Write clean, efficient, and well‑documented code using modern development practices and industry‑standard tools.
  • Collaborate with product owners, UX designers, and QA engineers to translate functional specifications into technical solutions.
  • Participate in full‑life‑cycle development, from initial research and prototyping through deployment and post‑release support.
  • Implement and refine MVC/MVVM patterns, ensuring a clear separation of concerns and maintainable codebases.
  • Integrate WebGL or comparable browser‑side 3D rendering technologies to deliver interactive visualizations for dental imaging.
  • Contribute to Agile ceremonies—sprint planning, daily stand‑ups, retrospectives—and help drive continuous improvement.
  • Conduct root‑cause analysis of production issues, provide timely fixes, and proactively suggest enhancements.
  • Mentor junior developers, share knowledge, and champion best practices across the engineering organization.
  • Travel to arenaflex corporate sites 2‑4 times per year for team‑building events, strategic workshops, and on‑site collaboration.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Management Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional software development experience, preferably in a SaaS or enterprise environment.
  • Proficiency with ASP.NET, C#, SQL, HTML5, and JavaScript, including modern frameworks such as React or Angular.
  • Hands‑on experience with MVC and/or MVVM architectural patterns.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with WebGL or other browser‑based 3D rendering technologies.
  • Strong understanding of the complete software development lifecycle, including Agile methodologies.
  • Deep knowledge of object‑oriented programming principles, design patterns, and clean‑code practices.
  • Extensive experience with relational databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL) and operating system fundamentals.
  • Excellent problem‑solving skills and the ability to conduct independent research on emerging technologies.
  • Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to articulate technical concepts to non‑technical stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications & Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience with Test‑Driven Development (TDD) and automated testing frameworks.
  • Familiarity with source‑code management tools such as Azure DevOps, Git, TFS, or SVN.
  • Proficiency in T‑SQL, LINQ, and data‑access layer optimization.
  • Exposure to Microsoft Blazor, WebAssembly (WASM), or similar emerging web technologies.
  • Prior work on cloud‑native architectures (Azure, AWS) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevOps best practices.
  • Experience in the dental or healthcare technology space is a distinct advantage.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to break down complex problems, evaluate trade‑offs, and devise elegant solutions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in a distributed team, leveraging tools like Teams, Slack, and Jira to stay aligned.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new languages, frameworks, or domain knowledge.
  • Customer Focus: Empathy for end‑users, translating their needs into intuitive, high‑performance software.
