Key Responsibilities

  • Verification & Validation: Review incoming records, cross‑check against source documents, and verify the completeness and correctness of each entry before final submission.
  • Compliance Assurance: Ensure all data handling practices adhere to HIPAA, GDPR, and other relevant privacy regulations, maintaining strict confidentiality at all times.
  • Collaboration with Clinical Teams: Work closely with physicians, nurses, billing specialists, and IT staff to resolve data discrepancies, clarify ambiguous entries, and support seamless information flow.
  • Report Generation & Trend Analysis: Assist in producing regular data quality reports, identify patterns or anomalies, and contribute insights that help improve clinical workflows.

Essential Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent; associate or bachelor’s degree in health information management, medical administration, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in healthcare data entry, medical records management, or a similar role.
  • Proficiency with EHR systems (e.g., Epic, Cerner, Allscripts) and familiarity with data management software such as Microsoft Excel, Access, or specialized health‑IT tools.
  • Exceptional keyboarding speed (70+ wpm) with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding standards (ICD‑10, CPT), and clinical documentation practices.
