Position Summary

arenaflex is seeking a highly motivated Senior Data Engineer to join the Information Designing group within the Data‑Driven Solutions & Innovation (DDSI) division. In this remote role, you will design, build, and maintain robust ETL/ELT pipelines, develop data models, and collaborate closely with Studio and Project Innovation partners to translate business requirements into scalable data solutions. This position offers a competitive hourly rate of $28, a full‑time schedule (8 hours per day), and the opportunity to work on high‑impact projects that influence the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Partner with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product owners, data analysts, and engineering leads—to gather and refine data requirements.
• Design, implement, and optimize end‑to‑end ETL/ELT pipelines using SQL, Python, and modern orchestration tools such as Apache Kafka (referred to as “Wind stream”) and Databricks.
• Develop and maintain data models, schema designs, and data marts in Snowflake, PostgreSQL, and other cloud‑based data warehouses.
• Manage data ingestion from diverse sources, including on‑premise systems, AWS S3 buckets, and streaming platforms, ensuring data quality, lineage, and governance.
• Automate deployment workflows with Docker, GitLab CI/CD, and version‑controlled repositories to support DEV, QA/UAT, and production environments.
• Monitor pipeline performance, troubleshoot bottlenecks, and implement proactive alerting and scaling strategies.
• Document technical designs, data dictionaries, and operational runbooks to facilitate knowledge sharing across the organization.
• Contribute to the evolution of data engineering best practices, coding standards, and architectural guidelines within arenaflex.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance on cloud platforms, data lake concepts, and data warehouse optimization.

Essential Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
• Experience: Minimum 3 years of professional experience in a data engineering role, with at least 2 years focused on designing and maintaining ETL/ELT pipelines.
• Technical Skills:
  • Proficient in SQL (ANSI‑compliant) and Python for data transformation and scripting.
  • Hands‑on experience with cloud platforms (AWS preferred) and storage services such as S3.
  • Familiarity with data lake architectures, data warehouses (Snowflake, PostgreSQL), and data modeling techniques.
  • Experience using containerization (Docker) and CI/CD pipelines (GitLab/GitHub).
