Key Responsibilities
- Data Entry & Verification: Accurately input patient and medication information into arenaflex’s pharmacy management system, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Prescription Processing: Retrieve, count, and pour medication tablets, verify dosage accuracy, and check for potential drug interactions under the direct supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
- Customer Interaction: Provide a friendly, knowledgeable, and proactive service experience via phone, chat, or video, guiding patients through medication queries, OTC product locations, and health‑related concerns.
- Cash Handling & Reconciliation: Manage the cash register for over‑the‑counter sales, process payments, and reconcile daily transactions with precision.
- Inventory Management: Assist with ordering, receiving, and stocking prescription medications, maintaining accurate records of inventory discrepancies, shortages, and returns.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow arenaflex’s Pharmacy Code of Conduct, report prescription errors immediately, and adhere to all HIPAA and pharmacy practice standards.
- Collaboration with Healthcare Providers: Field calls from physicians, nurses, and other health professionals, facilitating prescription clarifications and lab sample coordination.
- Continuous Learning: Participate in the arenaflex Pharmacy Technician Apprenticeship Program, complete required training modules, and earn up to 8 college credit hours recognized by the American Council on Education.
- Quality Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline workflows, suggest best practices for customer service, and contribute to a culture of safety and excellence.
Essential Qualifications
- Fluent in reading, writing, and speaking English (excluding Puerto Rico locations).
- High school diploma or GED; additional education in health sciences is a plus.
- Basic math proficiency for accurate medication counting, measuring, and weighing.
- Strong computer skills, including familiarity with Windows operating systems and data‑entry software.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA regulations.
- Excellent communication skills and a customer‑service mindset.
Preferred Qualifications
- Six months or more of retail or pharmacy experience, preferably in a fast‑paced environment.
