About arenaflex – Pioneering Data‑Driven Audit Excellence

arenaflex is a fast‑growing leader in the pet‑care e‑commerce space, delivering innovative solutions that connect millions of pet owners with the products they love. Our mission‑driven culture blends cutting‑edge technology with a deep commitment to animal welfare, creating a dynamic environment where data fuels smarter decisions, stronger controls, and a safer marketplace. As we expand our internal audit capabilities, we are looking for a highly skilled Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst to join our remote team and help shape the future of risk‑based auditing through automation, advanced analytics, and artificial intelligence.

Why This Role Matters

In today’s rapidly evolving digital landscape, internal audit functions must move beyond manual checklists and embrace data‑centric methodologies. At arenaflex, you will be at the forefront of this transformation, leveraging robotic process automation (RPA), advanced process automation (APA), and predictive analytics to streamline audit workflows, uncover hidden risks, and deliver actionable insights to senior leadership. Your work will directly influence the integrity of our financial reporting, compliance with SOX, and the overall resilience of our business operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Automation Strategy & Execution: Partner with the Internal Audit Lead to identify high‑impact manual processes and design RPA/APA solutions that reduce effort, increase accuracy, and free audit staff for higher‑value analysis.
  • Data Extraction & Modeling: Build robust SQL queries, ETL pipelines, and data models that consolidate information from multiple source systems (e.g., ERP, CRM, logistics) into a unified audit data lake.
  • Dashboard Development: Create interactive visualizations using Tableau, Power BI, or KNIME to provide real‑time risk dashboards, KPI tracking, and exception reporting for audit stakeholders.
  • Statistical & Predictive Analysis: Apply statistical techniques (regression, time‑series, clustering) and machine‑learning models to detect anomalies, fraud patterns, and emerging risk trends.
  • Documentation & Governance: Maintain comprehensive documentation of data‑analytics methodologies, automation scripts, and audit findings to satisfy SOX and internal governance standards.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with IT, Finance, Operations, and Business Intelligence teams to understand process flows, data lineage, and control environments.
  • Continuous Improvement: Proactively monitor emerging technologies, industry best practices, and regulatory changes to recommend enhancements to the audit analytics framework.
  • Stakeholder Communication: Translate complex analytical results into clear, business‑focused narratives for senior management, audit committees, and external auditors.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Finance, Statistics, Computer Science, Data Science, or a related quantitative discipline.
  • Minimum 3 + years of hands‑on experience in data analytics, data science, or internal audit with a strong focus on data‑driven risk assessment.
  • Advanced proficiency in SQL, including complex joins, window functions, and performance tuning.
  • Demonstrated experience building ETL processes and working with unstructured or semi‑structured data sources.
  • Proficiency with BI and data‑visualization tools such as Tableau, Power BI, KNIME, Alteryx, or OBIEE.
  • Solid programming skills in Python, R, or SAS for statistical analysis and predictive modeling.
  • Hands‑on experience designing and deploying RPA solutions (e.g., UiPath, Automation Anywhere, Blue Prism) and APA workflows.
  • Understanding of SOX compliance, internal control frameworks (COSO), and risk‑based audit methodologies.
  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret large data sets, identify patterns, and draw business‑relevant conclusions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of presenting technical findings to non‑technical audiences.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree or relevant certifications (CISA, CPA, CIA, or Data Science certifications).
  • Experience with cloud data platforms (AWS Redshift, Azure Synapse, Google BigQuery) and big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop).
  • Knowledge of statistical process control, regression analysis, and anomaly detection techniques.
  • Familiarity with data‑quality frameworks and data‑governance best practices.
  • Track record of delivering automation projects that resulted in measurable efficiency gains (e.g., 30 % reduction in manual audit hours).
  • Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, remote‑first environment while managing multiple priorities.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Critical Thinking: Ability to dissect complex problems, ask the right questions, and develop data‑centric solutions.
  • Collaboration: Strong team player who can build relationships across functional boundaries and influence without authority.
  • Adaptability: Comfortable navigating ambiguous situations, learning new tools quickly, and adjusting to evolving business needs.
  • Detail Orientation: Commitment to data accuracy, documentation, and compliance standards.
  • Innovation Mindset: Passion for exploring emerging technologies (AI, ML, RPA) and applying them to audit challenges.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

arenaflex invests heavily in the professional development of its employees. As a Senior Internal Audit Data Analyst, you will have access to:

  • Mentorship from senior audit leaders and data‑science experts.
  • Sponsored certifications (CISA, CPA, Data Science, RPA) and tuition reimbursement for advanced degrees.
  • Regular internal hackathons and innovation labs focused on automation and AI.
  • Opportunities to lead cross‑functional projects that shape enterprise‑wide risk management strategies.
  • Clear promotion pathways toward Audit Manager, Analytics Lead, or Data‑Strategy Director roles.
