Why This Role Matters

As a Senior Analytics Engineer at arenaflex, you will be at the heart of a strategic initiative that fuels the arenaflex Health Services Quality Improvement Program. Your work will directly influence how clinical, pharmacy, and claims data are transformed into actionable insights that guide business decisions, support regulatory compliance, and enhance patient care pathways. This is a unique opportunity to blend deep technical expertise with a purpose‑driven environment, all while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines that ingest, cleanse, and store large‑scale healthcare datasets from internal arenaflex production systems and external sources.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including data analysts, BI engineers, data architects, and business stakeholders—to translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.
  • Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes using industry‑leading platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, and Azure Data Factory, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Construct and manage dimensional data models, star schemas, and data marts that support reporting, analytics, and machine‑learning initiatives.
  • Develop automated data quality checks, validation frameworks, and monitoring dashboards to guarantee data integrity and compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Lead the creation of self‑service analytics tools and visualizations in Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, empowering end‑users to explore data without reliance on IT.
  • Mentor junior engineers and analysts, fostering a culture of continuous learning, best‑practice sharing, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies, sprint planning, and retrospectives, ensuring timely delivery of data solutions aligned with project milestones.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time for on‑site workshops, stakeholder meetings, or industry conferences, as needed.

Essential Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience developing and tuning SQL‑based ETL/ELT scripts in a production environment.
  • Proven track record designing and deploying isolated data environments using platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks, or Azure Synapse.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain semantic data layers that support BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex technical concepts to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Experience working on data‑centric projects within the healthcare, pharmacy, or insurance domains is highly desirable.
  • Willingness to allocate up to 5% of work time for travel related to business needs (both domestic and occasional out‑of‑state).

Preferred Skills & Certifications

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or equivalent data‑analytics certification.
  • Familiarity with healthcare data standards such as HEDIS, ECDS, and HIPAA compliance frameworks.
  • Experience with cloud‑based data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery) and orchestration tools (Airflow, Prefect).
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or Scala for data transformation and automation.
  • Exposure to machine‑learning pipelines and model deployment in a production setting.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data problems, identify root causes, and propose elegant, data‑driven solutions.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working in multidisciplinary teams, building trust with stakeholders, and driving consensus.
  • Attention to Detail: Rigorous approach to data quality, documentation, and compliance requirements.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new technologies and industry trends.
  • Leadership: Mentor junior talent, champion best practices, and influence technical direction across projects.
