Software Engineer – Integrations

Remote · USA Full-time New today

Join Kanpla's Integrations focus team and help build the connections that make our platform indispensable to customers — from food management systems to ERPs and our public API. Why this role matters Integrations are what turn Kanpla from a great product into a critical one. Every connection we build — to food management systems, ERPs, payment providers, identity systems — extends what Kanpla can do for our customers and deepens the value we deliver. For many of our customers, integrations aren't a nice-to-have; they're make-or-break. This role sits at the heart of that. You'll be helping us make Kanpla more capable, more connected, and more essential to the daily operations of the businesses we serve. About Kanpla We build the platform that powers contract catering across Europe and the US. We're a fast-growing scaleup with an ambitious, energetic engineering team working to reshape the contract catering industry. Our products serve food at over 5,000 locations to more than half a million users, and we have offices in Aarhus, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, and London, plus teammates working remotely across Europe. We're investing in a single, robust platform and developer experience so our teams can move faster and with more confidence. Our current stack Cloud: GCP and Vercel (We favor managed cloud solutions). Data: Firestore as the primary operational database. PostgreSQL as our analytical store. Observability: OpenTelemetry to BetterStack, PostHog and Sentry Languages: TypeScript-first(NodeJS, Fastify). CI/CD: GitHub Actions, Vercel, container pipelines. First 6 months We'd expect you to focus on: Develop and improve our existing integrations — getting hands-on with the integrations already powering our customers, learning how they work, and improve them even further. Build new integrations — extending Kanpla into food management systems, ERP systems, and other third-party platforms our customers rely on. Work with our Backend focus team — work with our backend team to strengthen the product's foundation, help building endpoints that could be consumed both internally and via integrations. Longer-term scope Drive new integration projects end-to-end — With help from the team, taking leading role in scoping and design through delivery and operation. Help evaluate how to speed up custom developments e.g. using a iPaaS versus strategic product integrations. Take part in developing and implementing the Kanpla public API, helping shape how external systems and partners build on top of Kanpla. Contribute to core business logic in central parts of the Kanpla product, making the core parts of Kanpla work seamlessly. Grow your craft as a backend engineer — taking on more complex problems, more ownership, and more influence over how we build. What we're looking for Must-haves A clear interest in backend engineering and the kind of problems that come with it: data, systems, integrations, reliability. A working understanding of TypeScript and Node.js — you don't need to be an expert, but you should be comfortable reading and writing code in both. Not afraid of making mistakes. We value learning and improving over playing it safe. Thrives in a fast-paced environment where priorities shift, things move quickly, and ownership is encouraged from day one. A collaborative mindset — you enjoy working with other engineers and across teams. Prior experience building or consuming APIs (REST, GraphQL, webhooks). Nice to have Experience working with third-party systems, ERPs, or food management/POS platforms. Familiarity with GCP, Firestore, or PostgreSQL. What we offer A high-impact role in a product used by hundreds of thousands of people. Flexible hours and the choice to work from Aarhus, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, or London - or fully remote anywhere in Europe. A supportive engineering team that values learning and teaching. Regular team gatherings and cross-office collaboration. Competitive benefits. Our culture We move quickly but responsibly. We value curiosity, ownership, and continuous learning. We want someone who'll raise the engineering bar technically and socially, and who'll be thoughtful about adopting new technologies - including AI tooling in our own engineering workflows. We encourage applications from candidates of all genders and backgrounds. If you're excited by the role but don't match every bullet above, please apply. Apply To This Job
