Role Overview – Remote Live Chat Data Entry Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated Remote Live Chat Data Entry Specialist to join our dynamic Customer Experience team. In this role, you will serve as the bridge between our customers’ voice‑of‑the‑customer (VOC) insights and the data platforms that power strategic decision‑making. Working from the comfort of your home, you will capture, cleanse, and transform high‑volume chat data into actionable intelligence that fuels our analytics ecosystem, including Hadoop, Spark, Hive, and Python‑based pipelines. Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate closely with utility and product teams to gather, clarify, and document business requirements for data capture and analysis.
  • Extract, validate, and enrich customer chat transcripts, ensuring data quality and consistency across the enterprise‑wide data lake.
  • Design and maintain robust data models that support efficient processing, standardized metric definitions, and scalable reporting.
  • Leverage transformational technologies (Hadoop, HDFS, MapReduce, Hive, Spark, Python, PySpark) to deliver real‑time and batch analytical solutions.
  • Develop and maintain automation scripts (Shell, Python) to streamline data ingestion, transformation, and validation workflows.
  • Partner with the VOC “Stop‑to‑Quit” team to prioritize, define, and monitor data pipelines for multiple use cases, ensuring timely delivery of insights.
  • Conduct thorough testing and validation of data pipelines, identifying and resolving discrepancies to guarantee data integrity.
  • Provide actionable recommendations to improve data processing efficiency and support the broader analytics community.
  • Document technical specifications, data dictionaries, and operational procedures for knowledge sharing across teams.
  • Participate in agile ceremonies (daily stand‑ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 3 years of hands‑on experience with Hive/Hadoop, PySpark, Python, and shell scripting in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to translate functional business requirements into technical deliverables, working closely with product owners and business analysts.
  • Strong understanding of agile delivery methodologies, with experience delivering incremental product releases on a regular cadence.
  • Excellent typing speed (≥70 WPM) with a high degree of accuracy, essential for efficient data entry and transcription.
  • Proven customer service or data entry background, showcasing strong communication skills—both written and verbal.
