Lead Civil Engineer (Remote)

Our client is seeking a highly accomplished and innovative Lead Civil Engineer to join their fully remote engineering team. The Lead Civil Engineer will be responsible for overseeing the planning, design, and execution of civil engineering projects, ensuring they meet all technical specifications, regulatory requirements, and quality standards. You will lead a team of engineers and designers, providing technical guidance, mentorship, and project management support. Key responsibilities include performing complex engineering calculations, developing detailed design drawings and specifications, and conducting site investigations and feasibility studies. The successful candidate will possess extensive experience in a specific area of civil engineering, such as transportation, water resources, or structural engineering, and a strong understanding of relevant design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bentley). This role demands exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong analytical skills, and the capacity to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a remote setting. You will collaborate closely with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies to ensure project success and maintain strong working relationships. The Lead Civil Engineer will also be involved in budget management, resource allocation, and risk assessment for assigned projects. Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution. A Master's degree is a plus. Professional Engineer (PE) license is required. A minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in civil engineering design and project management is essential. Demonstrated experience leading engineering teams and managing complex infrastructure projects is mandatory. Proficiency in civil engineering design software (e.g., AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation, Bentley) and project management tools is required. Strong understanding of engineering principles, codes, and standards relevant to the specialization. Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills are necessary for effective team and stakeholder management. The ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks effectively, and deliver high-quality results in a remote work environment is critical.
