Civil Engineer I
Tetra Tech is a leader in water, environment, and sustainable infrastructure, providing high-end consulting and engineering services for projects worldwide. They are seeking a full-time Civil Engineer I to support the development of construction documents and collaborate with project teams across various sectors including commercial and federal clients.
Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of civil engineering designs, calculations, and technical analyses under the guidance of senior engineers and the Civil Designer of Record
- Support the development of construction documents, including plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a variety of projects
- Collaborate with internal project teams to ensure designs meet client requirements, regulatory standards, and quality expectations
- Perform site evaluations, data collection, and field inspections as needed to support project development
- Utilize engineering software and design tools to produce accurate and efficient design solutions
- Review and interpret applicable codes, regulations, and standards to ensure compliance across all project deliverables
- Assist with project coordination tasks, including communicating with team members and contributing to project timelines and deliverables
- Provide support during the construction phase, including responding to requests for information (RFIs) and reviewing submittals
Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Engineering in Training (EIT) certification
- Experience in using Autodesk AutoCAD Civil 3D for civil drawings
- Experience with stormwater and water quality systems, LID/green infrastructure, grading, drainage, and street design
- Experience with water and sewer systems
- Outstanding oral and written communication skills
- Strong commitment to safety and quality
- A valid driver's license, and ability to travel to client offices and project sites when required (local and interstate travel required)
- Must be able to pass a background screen
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- Experience with hydrologic and hydraulic modeling using standard engineering software such as HEC-RAS, Autodesk Stormwater and Sanitary Analysis or GeoSTORM is preferred
