MRSGNA Associate Account Manager Job Details | Munich Re Careers
American Modern Insurance Group is part of Munich Re Specialty Group North America, providing expertise in specialty and marine lines of insurance. They are seeking a full-time Associate Account Manager to handle customer service requests, manage relationships with clients and underwriters, and assist in the production of new business.
Responsibilities
- Act on and respond to in a timely basis requests for cargo insurance quotes, customs bonds, and insurance certificates
- Take bond requests and use underwriting authority sensibly and provide approval or request for more information to customer in a timely fashion. Handle other telephone requests and written miscellaneous correspondence
- Handle underwriter requests for underwriting information on renewals and follow up to completion. Perform other aspects of customer service for house accounts as assigned, including requests for underwriting information
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with clients as well as underwriters on administrative matters and coordinate significant situations. Identify new business opportunities and refer to VP
- Assist in the production of new business and handle existing account renewals and inquiries
- Create and maintain positive relationships with customers and carriers
- Handle all marketing efforts of both new and existing business
- Obtain and maintain underwriting authority through Munich Re (Syndicate of Lloyds of London)
- Issuance of Lloyd’s policies, endorsements and renewal documents
- Provide service to company’s sales staff and clients, including proposals, special quotes, binders and certificates of insurance
- Pursue a program for professional development
Skills
- Bachelor's degree
- Excellent customer service skills
- Computer proficiency in Microsoft Office software programs (including Excel and Word) and a strong aptitude for learning proprietary software germane to the Marine Insurance product
- Above average mathematical skills to work with numbers and percentages
- Ability to review financial statements and exercise good judgement and decision making
- Strong analytical skills and ability to make decisions, problem solve and think on your feet
- Proficiency with written and oral communication. Ability to provide information in a clear, concise manner with an appropriate level of detail, empathy and professionalism
- Detail oriented with strong organizational skills to maintain files in an orderly and accurate manner
- Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines
- Ability to build relationships and work as part of a team in a positive and professional manner
- Ability to function effectively in an office environment

- NY/NJ brokers license preferred but not required at start of employment. Must secure 6 months-1 year of start of employment
