Why This Role Matters

In today’s data‑driven world, the ability to transform raw information into actionable insights is a competitive advantage. As a Senior Analytics Engineer on the arenaflex Health Analytics team, you will be at the heart of the organization’s Quality Improvement program, enabling data‑powered reporting, analytics, and strategic initiatives that directly impact patient outcomes and operational efficiency. This is a unique opportunity to blend data engineering expertise with a mission‑focused environment, all while enjoying the flexibility of a remote, part‑time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the design, development, and maintenance of robust data pipelines that feed critical reporting and analytics solutions for arenaflex Health.
  • Collaborate with cross‑functional teams—including data scientists, BI engineers, product owners, and business stakeholders—to translate business requirements into scalable data architectures.
  • Implement and optimize ETL/ELT processes using industry‑leading platforms such as Azure Data Factory, Databricks, Snowflake, and other cloud‑based data services.
  • Develop and manage data models, data marts, and analytical tables that support both operational reporting and advanced analytics use cases.
  • Apply best practices for data ingestion, transformation, and storage to ensure data quality, consistency, and compliance with regulatory standards.
  • Perform data profiling and data quality assessments across internal systems, external data feeds, and third‑party health data sets (e.g., pharmacy claims, clinical encounters, HEDIS metrics).
  • Create and maintain internal tools that automate data validation, quality assurance, and data governance processes.
  • Support the development of self‑service BI dashboards using Power BI, Tableau, Looker, or similar visualization platforms, enabling business users to explore data independently.
  • Mentor junior data engineers and contribute to a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence within the analytics community.
  • Travel up to 5% of the time for on‑site collaboration, training sessions, or industry conferences, as required.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of hands‑on experience building and maintaining data pipelines in a production environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in SQL, Python, or Scala for data manipulation; demonstrated ability to write performant ETL/ELT scripts.
  • Platform Knowledge: Experience with cloud data platforms such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud, and familiarity with Snowflake, Databricks, or similar data warehouse solutions.
  • BI & Visualization: Ability to design and implement data models that support BI tools like Power BI, Tableau, or Looker, and to translate technical concepts into business‑friendly language.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with a proven track record of collaborating effectively with technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Industry Exposure: At least 2 years of experience contributing to data‑driven solutions within the health‑care, pharmacy, or related financial services domains.

Preferred Qualifications & Skills

  • Certified Analytics Professional (CAP) or similar data‑management certification.
  • Deep understanding of pharmacy, health‑care, and clinical analytics concepts, including familiarity with HEDIS, ECDS, and other industry standards.
  • Experience with data governance frameworks, data lineage tools, and metadata management solutions.
  • Knowledge of machine learning pipelines and the ability to support data scientists in model training and deployment.
  • Prior experience in a remote or distributed work environment, demonstrating self‑discipline and effective time management.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Mindset: Ability to dissect complex data problems, identify root causes, and propose scalable solutions.
  • Problem‑Solving: Proactive approach to troubleshooting data issues, optimizing performance, and ensuring reliability of data assets.
  • Collaboration: Comfortable working within multidisciplinary teams, fostering trust, and driving consensus across diverse perspectives.
  • Adaptability: Thrive in a fast‑changing environment, quickly learning new technologies and adjusting to evolving business priorities.
  • Attention to Detail: Commitment to data integrity, accuracy, and compliance with privacy regulations such as HIPAA.
