Position Overview – Data Entry Specialist

arenaflex is seeking a meticulous, detail‑oriented Data Entry Specialist to support our fast‑growing health‑care operations. In this entry‑level role, you will be responsible for accurately entering, updating, and maintaining critical information across multiple internal databases and systems. Your work will directly impact the quality of our member services, compliance reporting, and overall operational efficiency.

This full‑time position offers a structured schedule, competitive compensation, and a comprehensive benefits package. It is an ideal opportunity for candidates who thrive in a collaborative, fast‑paced environment and who are eager to develop a solid foundation in health‑care data management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Data Input & Maintenance: Accurately input member, provider, and claims data into arenaflex’s proprietary and third‑party databases, ensuring consistency with established formatting standards.
  • Quality Assurance: Conduct routine data quality checks, verify completeness, and resolve discrepancies to maintain the integrity of critical health‑care information.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Generate and distribute regular data reports for internal stakeholders, highlighting trends, errors, and opportunities for process improvement.
  • Policy Adherence: Follow arenaflex’s data entry policies, privacy guidelines, and security protocols to protect sensitive health information.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross‑functional teams—including claims processing, member services, and IT—to support data‑driven initiatives and meet departmental goals.
  • Continuous Learning: Stay current with emerging data entry tools, software updates, and best practices, proactively suggesting enhancements to streamline workflows.
  • Support Projects: Assist with special data migration, system integration, and audit projects as needed, providing accurate data extraction and validation.

Essential Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate degree in Business Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field is preferred.
  • Experience: Demonstrated experience in data entry, administrative support, or a similar role. Prior exposure to health‑care data is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (including formulas, pivot tables, and data validation). Familiarity with database management tools or CRM platforms is advantageous.
  • Attention to Detail: Proven ability to maintain high levels of accuracy while handling large volumes of data under tight deadlines.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent time‑management capabilities, with the capacity to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and handle multiple assignments simultaneously.
  • Communication: Effective written and verbal communication skills, enabling clear interaction with team members and stakeholders.
  • Integrity & Confidentiality: Commitment to safeguarding protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA and arenaflex’s privacy standards.

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Experience with data‑entry automation tools (e.g., macros, RPA) or scripting languages such as VBA or Python.
  • Knowledge of health‑care terminology, coding systems (ICD‑10, CPT), or insurance processes.
  • Previous exposure to electronic health‑record (EHR) systems or claims management platforms.
  • Certification in Data Management, Health Information Management, or related fields (e.g., CHDA, RHIA).
  • Demonstrated problem‑solving mindset with a proactive approach to identifying and correcting data anomalies.

Core Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to interpret data patterns, spot inconsistencies, and recommend corrective actions.
  • Team Orientation: Collaborative spirit that values shared success and contributes positively to a diverse workplace.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to learn new software, adjust to evolving processes, and thrive in a rapidly changing health‑care landscape.
  • Customer Focus: Understanding of how accurate data supports member experience and overall service quality.
