Position Overview

The Media Replay Operator I – Studio Operations role is a critical component of arenaflex’s Studio Tasks Sports team. In this remote position, you will coordinate, record, edit, and playback server‑based media assets during live and pre‑recorded productions, ensuring that every replay, highlight, and on‑air segment meets arenaflex’s rigorous standards for video and audio quality. You will also manage the local media library, maintain accurate naming conventions, and support a variety of studio shows and special events that demand precision, speed, and technical expertise.

Key Responsibilities

  • Broadcast Equipment Management: Operate and maintain all broadcast hardware and software within assigned production zones, including the ingestion, storage, and playback of server‑based content for live productions.
  • Replay Editing & Playback: Apply advanced editing techniques to create instant replays, slow‑motion sequences, and non‑linear graphics, ensuring seamless integration with live feeds.
  • Quality Assurance: Monitor audio and video signals against arenaflex’s technical standards, performing real‑time adjustments to uphold broadcast quality.
  • Training & Documentation: Mentor junior team members, develop training materials, and document standard operating procedures for media handling and playback workflows.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training programs—both in‑person and virtual—to stay current with emerging technologies and evolving production processes.
  • Signal Flow Expertise: Demonstrate deep knowledge of plant signal flow and routing, troubleshooting issues quickly to minimize on‑air disruptions.
  • Special Event Support: Contribute to high‑profile events and special projects as needed, adapting to shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
  • Cross‑Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Production, Engineering, and Graphics teams to ensure smooth handoffs and integrated workflows.
  • Continuous Improvement: Analyze workflow data, identify bottlenecks, and propose process enhancements that increase efficiency and reliability.

Essential Qualifications

  • Minimum of 2 years hands‑on experience in television production or a closely related field at a large market or network level.
  • Proficient knowledge of broadcast hardware and software, including video production switchers, server‑based recording/playback systems, broadcast consoles, audio mixers, and signal conversion equipment.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including late shifts, weekends, and holidays, to support live sports events that often run outside standard business hours.
  • Demonstrated capacity to meet tight deadlines, work independently, and lead collaborative projects under pressure.
  • Strong understanding of production workflows across multiple departments and the ability to communicate technical concepts clearly to non‑technical stakeholders.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive approach to problem‑solving.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with media asset management tools.
  • High‑level written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft clear, concise messages for internal teams and external partners.
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required; a bachelor’s degree is preferred.

Preferred Skills & Attributes

  • Formal training or certification in Broadcast Communications, Studio Production, Journalism, or a related discipline.
  • Experience with broadcast communications equipment such as RF routers, satellite uplinks, and remote production trucks.
  • Knowledge of remote event production workflows and terminology.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional customer service to internal partners and external stakeholders.
  • Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish (written and spoken) is highly desirable.
  • Familiarity with industry‑standard editing software (e.g., Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere) and graphics packages (e.g., Vizrt, Chyron).
