Position Overview

arenaflex is actively seeking a dedicated and motivated Customer Service Associate – Commercial Insurance Sales & Risk Management to join our dynamic remote contact center team. As a Business Insurance Agent at the Intermediate level, you will be responsible for engaging with business owners across the country, providing expert guidance on insurance products, and delivering tailored risk management strategies that protect their operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inbound Sales Engagement: Receive and manage inbound calls from business owners seeking advice on commercial insurance products, risk management strategies, and coverage options. Deliver a consultative sales experience that identifies customer needs and provides tailored solutions.
  • Consultative Needs Assessment: Utilize a thorough discovery process to understand each customer's unique business risks, operational challenges, and insurance requirements. Recommend appropriate coverage solutions that align with their goals and risk tolerance.
  • Relationship Building: Develop and maintain strong, trust-based relationships with current members, prospective non-members, and insurance carrier partners. Serve as a reliable point of contact for ongoing insurance needs and inquiries.
  • Compliance and Documentation: Ensure all sales activities, policy recommendations, and account changes comply with state and federal insurance regulations. Maintain meticulous records to minimize errors and uphold industry standards.
  • Risk Management Advisory: Stay informed on industry trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes affecting commercial insurance. Provide accurate, up-to-date guidance to customers on protecting their businesses.
  • Technology Utilization: Leverage Agency Management Systems and CRM platforms (such as Salesforce) to research products, compare carrier offerings, and manage customer accounts efficiently.
  • Underwriting Collaboration: Work closely with underwriters to negotiate policy endorsements, renewals, cancellations, and other underwriting decisions that meet both customer needs and carrier guidelines.
  • Insurance to Value (ITV) Calculations: Perform accurate ITV calculations for a variety of property types, ensuring customers maintain adequate coverage based on current market values.
  • Account Services Management: Handle policy changes, renewals, cancellations, billing inquiries, and other account service requests in a timely and professional manner.
  • Continuous Learning: Participate in ongoing training and professional development opportunities to stay current on commercial insurance products, regulatory changes, and best practices in customer service.

Essential Qualifications

  • Educational Background: High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) required.
  • Industry Experience: Minimum of one year of insurance sales and service experience, preferably within commercial lines insurance.
  • Licensing Requirement: A valid Property and Casualty (P&C) insurance license for your home state, or the ability to obtain licensure within 90 days of hire.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, with a knack for explaining complex insurance concepts in simple, customer-friendly terms.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable using computers, CRM platforms, and Agency Management Systems to manage customer data and workflows.

  • Two or more years of Commercial Lines Insurance account management experience.
