[Remote] Senior Manager, Accounting

They are seeking a Senior Manager, Accounting to oversee SEC reporting, technical accounting, internal audit, and accounting operations, ensuring compliance with US GAAP and SEC regulations while partnering across various departments for accurate financial reporting.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the preparation, review, and filing of SEC reports including 10-K, 10-Q, earnings releases, and related disclosures
  • Serve as a technical accounting expert, preparing memos and advising on complex accounting matters and new pronouncements
  • Assist with SOX compliance program, including risk assessment, control design, testing, and remediation
  • Design and manage the internal audit plan and internal control framework aligned with COSO and regulatory requirements
  • Coordinate closely with external auditors to support audits, reviews, and reliance on internal work
  • Ensure effective internal controls over financial reporting and drive continuous improvement and automation
  • Project manage the end-to-end external reporting process, including financial statements, footnotes, and MD&A
  • Partner cross-functionally to ensure accurate accounting treatment of transactions and business activities
  • Assess control implications of business changes, acquisitions, and new initiatives
  • Prepare and present financial and control-related materials to senior leadership and the Audit Committee
  • Lead process, system, and reporting improvements to enhance efficiency and quality
  • Supervise internal and outsourced audit resources
  • Assist with the monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes, ensuring timely, accurate, and well-controlled financial results in accordance with US GAAP
  • Supervise and review account reconciliations and variance analyses, ensuring completeness, accuracy, and timely resolution of reconciling items
  • Manage general ledger activities, including journal entries, accruals, and complex accounting areas to ensure accurate financial reporting
  • Maintain and enhance accounting policies, procedures, and documentation to support a strong control environment and audit readiness
  • Lead process improvement and automation initiatives across the ERP system and financial close cycle, identifying opportunities to streamline workflows, reduce manual effort, and enhance data integrity

Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA required
  • 7+ years of relevant experience in public accounting and/or industry, including SEC reporting and/or audit
  • Experience working with external auditors and managing audit processes
  • Proven ability to lead complex projects and drive process improvements
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work cross-functionally
