The Strategy Advisor is a senior, client-facing role focused on driving business development, client engagement, and expanding long-term client value through strategic initiatives and relationship building.

Responsibilities

  • Lead initial scoping and early-stage client engagement to align opportunities with client objectives
  • Act as a strategic advisor to clients, translating needs into structured engagement approaches
  • Facilitate early client meetings, presentations, and scoping discussions; ensure seamless transition to delivery teams
  • Develop and present clear recommendations, solution frameworks, and value propositions
  • Maintain accurate documentation of opportunity progression and conversion into engagements
  • Lead and support pursuit activity for new opportunities across consultants, experts, and sales partners
  • Identify and convert new client opportunities through networking, conferences, and proactive outreach efforts
  • Expand existing client relationships through cross-service opportunities and follow-on engagements
  • Support and participate in client pitches, relationship-building meetings, and business development initiatives
  • Apply market intelligence, research, and internal data to improve pursuit outcomes and win rates
  • Partner with sales, consultants, and experts to shape proposals, pricing strategy, and messaging
  • Build strategic relationship maps within client organizations and targeted markets
  • Represent the firm at industry conferences, client meetings, and networking events to generate new business opportunities
  • Help increase visibility of consultants and experts by connecting them with prospective clients and opportunities
  • Strengthen and expand relationships with senior stakeholders across client organizations
  • Serve as a cross-functional connector across sales, consultants, experts, and leadership
  • Mentor team members and partners on pursuit strategy, client engagement, and best practices
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to refine scalable solutions and engagement strategies
  • Act as a subject-matter-informed resource aligning client needs with firm capabilities

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in professional services, including business development and client-facing roles
  • Demonstrated success in developing new business and expanding existing client relationships
  • Strong understanding of legal industry dynamics and service offerings
  • Advanced communication and executive-level presentation skills
  • Proven relationship-building and networking capabilities
  • Strong strategic thinking, organizational, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to manage multiple pursuits and client engagements simultaneously
  • Bachelor's degree required
  • Experience in professional services (legal or consulting preferred)
  • Proficiency with CRM systems and Microsoft Office tools
  • Ability to travel for client meetings, conferences, and business development activities
  • Must be located within 50 miles of a major U.S. airport
  • Advanced degree preferred
