Our mission goes beyond insurance – we invest in youth education, workforce development, and economic vitality, creating vibrant, healthy neighborhoods where people can thrive.

Position Overview

We are seeking enthusiastic, customer‑focused individuals to join our Remote Customer Service Trainee program. This entry‑level role is designed for candidates who are eager to launch a rewarding career in the dental benefits industry while gaining hands‑on experience with real‑world claims processing, member support, and provider relations. The position combines a structured hybrid training schedule with a supportive, remote work environment, allowing you to develop core competencies that are highly valued across the healthcare sector.

Why This Role Is Unique

  • Hybrid training model – four weeks on‑site and four weeks remote, providing a balanced blend of classroom instruction, mentorship, and practical application.
  • Direct exposure to arenaflex’s state‑of‑the‑art claims processing system, giving you a solid foundation in health‑care operations.
  • Opportunity to work with a diverse member base, ranging from individuals seeking routine dental coverage to large group plans.
  • Clear pathways for advancement into full‑time Customer Service Representative, Claims Analyst, or specialized provider support roles.

Key Responsibilities

As a Customer Service Trainee, you will operate in a learning capacity while delivering high‑quality service to members and providers. Your day‑to‑day duties will include:

  • Researching member and provider inquiries by navigating the claims processing platform and supplemental data sources.
  • Responding to telephone and written communications with professionalism, using proper etiquette, grammar, and punctuation.
  • Maintaining accurate departmental records, ensuring compliance with privacy and data‑security standards.
  • Operating office equipment—including computers, calculators, copiers, and fax machines—to support daily workflow.
  • Making corrections to claims and eligibility information, ensuring data integrity and timely resolution.
  • Entering new claims, eligibility updates, and subscriber details into the mainframe system.
  • Reviewing coverage plans to determine benefit levels, eligibility criteria, and applicable cost‑share structures.
  • Documenting interactions and outcomes in the customer relationship management (CRM) system for future reference.
  • Collaborating with senior team members to identify process improvements and share best practices.

Required Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent (GED accepted).
  • Experience: Minimum of one year in a customer‑service role that required the use of computer applications—preferably in a call‑center environment or within the dental/health‑care sector.
  • Assessment: Successful completion of the customer‑service simulation test (score ≥ 62/100). Candidates who have previously passed the test at arenaflex or who have held a similar trainee or associate role are exempt.
  • Availability: Ability to work either the first shift (8:25 am – 6:30 pm) or the second shift (11:00 am – 12:00 midnight), Monday through Friday.
  • Technical Skills: Comfortable using standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, email, web browsers) and learning new proprietary systems quickly.
  • Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an emphasis on clear, courteous, and empathetic interaction.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous exposure to dental insurance terminology, claims adjudication, or provider networks.
  • Experience with remote work tools such as video conferencing, virtual private networks (VPN), and collaborative platforms (e.g., Microsoft Teams, Slack).
  • Demonstrated ability to meet performance metrics in a fast‑paced environment (e.g., call handling time, first‑call resolution).
  • Basic understanding of HIPAA regulations and data‑privacy best practices.

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Problem‑Solving: Ability to analyze member issues, identify root causes, and propose effective solutions.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in data entry and documentation to avoid errors that could affect member benefits.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with shifting priorities, new technologies, and evolving procedural guidelines.
  • Team Collaboration: Willingness to share knowledge, support peers, and contribute to a positive team dynamic.
  • Customer‑Centric Mindset: Commitment to delivering exceptional service that aligns with arenaflex’s mission of improving oral health.

Training & Development

Our eight‑week hybrid training program is meticulously designed to accelerate your professional growth:

  • Weeks 1 & 2 (On‑Site): Introduction to arenaflex’s culture, policies, and core systems. Hands‑on workshops covering claims fundamentals, data security, and communication etiquette.
  • Weeks 3‑5 (Remote): Virtual classroom sessions, interactive simulations, and real‑time shadowing of experienced agents. Participants complete daily assignments that reinforce learning objectives.
  • Weeks 6 & 7 (On‑Site): Advanced scenario‑based training, peer‑review exercises, and performance feedback from mentors.
  • Week 8 (Remote): Final assessment, certification, and transition planning for full‑time placement.

Throughout the program, you will receive continuous coaching, access to a dedicated learning portal, and opportunities to earn industry‑recognized certifications.

Career Path & Advancement Opportunities

arenaflex invests in its people. Upon successful completion of the trainee program, you may progress to:

  • Customer Service Representative – Dental Benefits – handling higher‑volume inquiries and complex claim scenarios.

Each step is accompanied by structured learning plans, tuition assistance for relevant courses, and clear performance benchmarks.
