Our mission at Oura is to empower every person to own their inner potential. Our award-winning products help our global community gain a deeper knowledge of their readiness, activity, and sleep quality by using their Oura Ring and its connected app. We've helped millions of people understand and improve their health by providing daily insights and practical steps to inspire healthy lifestyles. Empowering the world starts with living our values and empowering our team. As a quickly growing company focused on helping people live healthier and happier lives, we ensure that our team members have what they need to do their best work — both in and out of the office. We are looking for a Director of Events to build and lead Oura’s event and activation strategy across Commercial Marketing, Partnerships, and key brand moments. This leader will own how Oura shows up across healthcare conferences, executive programs, VIP hospitality, science- and press-adjacent events, and consumer-facing activations tied to major sports and brand partnerships — ensuring every event or activation is strategically prioritized, operationally excellent, and tied to measurable business outcomes. This role is both highly strategic and highly operational, and requires an experienced leader who can build the function while also raising the bar on how Oura brings its biggest partnership moments to life in market. This role will report into Commercial Marketing leadership and is expected to build and manage a small events team over time as the function scales. What you will do Event Strategy & Leadership Own the overarching events and activations strategy across Oura’s commercial business, partnership portfolio, and major consumer-facing brand moments. Build the long-term vision for how events support Oura’s commercial growth, healthcare credibility, partnership strategy, premium brand positioning, and member relevance. Define the prioritization framework for where Oura should show up, why, at what investment level, and what outcomes are required for success across both B2B and consumer-facing activations. Operate as the senior leader and decision-maker across event investments, activation strategy, staffing models, agency partnerships, and resource allocation. Build and lead a high-performing events function over time, including hiring, managing, mentoring, and developing event team members as the organization scales. Establish clear operating models, processes, and cross-functional ways of working that improve alignment, speed, accountability, and execution quality across the organization. Commercial, Partnerships and Consumer Activations Lead end-to-end planning and execution for commercial events, sports partnership activations, hospitality programs, and major consumer-facing experiences, including budgeting, vendor and agency management, staffing, production oversight, executive support, and post-event analysis. Partner closely with Commercial, Sales, Product Marketing, Growth, Sports & Brand Partnerships, Brand, and Creative teams to ensure each activation supports clear business and brand objectives. Oversee how Oura brings major sponsorships and partnership moments to life physically, translating rights packages and brand opportunities into standout experiences for consumers, members, athletes, partners, and VIP audiences. Build scalable frameworks that support both repeatable B2B event motions and high-impact tentpole activations tied to marquee sports and brand partnerships. Ensure all event and activation experiences reflect Oura’s premium brand standards while delivering clear commercial, brand, and partnership value. Thought Leadership & Executive Programs Lead how Oura shows up at thought leadership moments across healthcare, science, wellness, consumer-facing activations and executive-facing events. Partner closely with Science, PR/Comms, Product Marketing, and executive stakeholders to shape speaking opportunities, executive engagement strategies, briefing materials, hosted experiences, and narrative development. Support science- and press-adjacent opportunities where there is a strong strategic, brand, or commercial rationale. Help define the long-term operating model for how Commercial Marketing partners across Brand, PR, Science, and executive leadership on external-facing events. Sports Marketing & Experiential Partnerships Partner closely with the Senior Director of Sports & Brand Partner Marketing and other cross-functional leaders to lead event strategy and execution for sports partnership activations, hospitality programs, sponsorship moments, and premium experiential extensions of Oura’s key deals. Own the event and experiential layer of major sports partnerships, ensuring Oura has one clear leader overseeing execution across consumer-facing activations at major events, athlete and partner hosting, hospitality, and on-the-ground brand presence. Help translate sponsorship rights, athlete access, hospitality assets, and partner opportunities into scalable, high-quality event strategies and physical experiences. Define how Oura shows up experientially across consumer, member, athlete, partner, and VIP environments, ensuring activations feel premium, culturally relevant, and aligned to broader brand and commercial goals. Operations, Infrastructure & Team Scale Build and scale Oura’s event infrastructure across the organization, including playbooks, templates, budget management systems, reporting frameworks, staffing models, vendor standards, and “events-in-a-box” solutions. Hire, lead, and develop a high-performing events team over time, while building the right mix of internal resources, agencies, production partners, and vendors to support the function as it scales. Serve as the senior owner and escalation point across event operations, agency management, production, logistics, and cross-functional stakeholder alignment. Establish rigorous planning, communication, and operational standards across all activations to ensure consistently high-quality execution and premium brand experiences. Drive continuous improvement across event strategy, execution quality, measurement, organizational alignment, and operational efficiency. Measurement & Analytics Define the KPI framework for measuring event success across awareness, engagement, executive relationships, meetings, leads, pipeline influence, customer value, partnership value, and ROI. Partner with Commercial, Growth, and Sales Operations teams to ensure event data is captured accurately and translated into actionable insights. Use performance data, post-event reporting, and trend analysis to improve future investment decisions and strategic prioritization.
