Remote · USA Full-time New today

About arenaflex

arenaflex is a global leader in aviation services, constantly pushing the boundaries of technology to enhance the travel experience for millions of passengers each year. With a heritage of innovation and a forward‑thinking mindset, arenaflex invests heavily in cutting‑edge solutions that transform how customers book, travel, and interact with the airline ecosystem. As part of arenaflex’s commitment to digital transformation, the company is building a world‑class AI and Machine Learning (ML) capability that will power everything from predictive maintenance to personalized customer journeys.

Why This Role Matters

Our AI Software Engineer will join a high‑impact Development team that partners with business units across the entire arenaflex portfolio. You will help translate complex, real‑world aviation challenges into scalable AI solutions that improve operational efficiency, elevate the passenger experience, and drive new revenue streams. This is a unique opportunity to work on projects that affect millions of travelers worldwide while enjoying the flexibility of a fully remote position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with cross‑functional stakeholders—including product managers, data scientists, and operations teams—to identify business problems that can be solved with AI.
  • Design, prototype, and implement end‑to‑end machine‑learning pipelines, from data ingestion and feature engineering to model training, validation, and deployment.
  • Develop reusable libraries and frameworks that accelerate AI experimentation across arenaflex’s various business units.
  • Lead proof‑of‑concept (PoC) initiatives, building demonstrable prototypes that showcase the impact of AI on key performance indicators such as on‑time performance, revenue per passenger, and customer satisfaction.
  • Write production‑grade code in Python, Java, or C++ and ensure it adheres to arenaflex’s coding standards, security policies, and performance benchmarks.
  • Integrate AI models with existing arenaflex services via RESTful APIs, GraphQL endpoints, or event‑driven architectures.
  • Mentor junior engineers and foster a culture of continuous learning, knowledge sharing, and collaborative problem solving.
  • Stay current with emerging AI research, tools, and best practices, and proactively recommend how they can be applied to arenaflex’s strategic initiatives.
  • Participate in code reviews, sprint planning, and agile ceremonies to ensure timely delivery of high‑quality features.
  • Document technical designs, model performance metrics, and deployment procedures to support reproducibility and regulatory compliance.

Essential Qualifications

  • 3–4 years of professional experience developing AI/ML solutions, preferably in a large‑scale, production environment.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (or equivalent practical experience).
  • Proficiency in at least one major programming language such as Python, Java, C/C++, or R.
  • Deep expertise in Python for AI development, including familiarity with libraries such as NumPy, pandas, and scikit‑learn.
  • Hands‑on experience with at least one deep‑learning framework (TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, MXNet, or similar).
  • Solid understanding of core ML concepts: supervised/unsupervised learning, natural language processing (NLP), computer vision, clustering, and recommendation systems.
  • Experience building and deploying RESTful APIs and integrating AI services with front‑end applications.
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities, with a track record of turning ambiguous business challenges into concrete technical solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting complex technical ideas to both technical and non‑technical audiences.
  • Eligibility to work in the United States and a high‑school diploma or equivalent (GED).

Preferred Qualifications & Additional Skills

  • Master’s degree or Ph.D. in a quantitative discipline.
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and services such as SageMaker, Azure ML, or Google AI Platform.
  • Familiarity with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes) and CI/CD pipelines for model deployment.
  • Knowledge of big‑data technologies (Spark, Hadoop, Kafka) for large‑scale data processing.
  • Background in the aviation or travel industry, understanding of airline operations, reservation systems, or revenue management.
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a remote, distributed team environment, managing time zones and asynchronous communication effectively.
  • Passion for travel, a curiosity about how passengers experience the journey, and a desire to make that experience smoother and more delightful.

Core Competencies & Personal Attributes

  • Innovation Mindset: You thrive on exploring new technologies and applying them to solve real business problems.
  • Collaboration: You enjoy partnering with diverse teams, listening to different perspectives, and building consensus.
  • Adaptability: You are comfortable navigating changing priorities and can pivot quickly when new data or insights emerge.
  • Customer‑Centricity: You keep the passenger experience at the forefront of every technical decision.
  • Integrity & Security: You prioritize data privacy, security best practices, and compliance with industry regulations.
  • Continuous Learning: You actively seek feedback, pursue professional development, and share knowledge with peers.
