Our client, a rapidly growing telecommunications firm, is seeking a highly experienced Senior Network Engineer for a fully remote position. This critical role involves the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network infrastructures that support our global operations. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in routing, switching, firewalls, and network security protocols. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability, scalability, and performance of our network environments, troubleshooting intricate issues, and contributing to the strategic direction of our network architecture. This is a remote-first opportunity, allowing you to contribute from anywhere within the US. Responsibilities: Design, deploy, configure, and manage enterprise-level network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless access points. Develop and implement network security policies and procedures to protect company assets. Monitor network performance and troubleshoot issues to ensure optimal uptime and connectivity. Conduct capacity planning and recommend network upgrades and expansions to meet future demands. Collaborate with system administrators and other IT teams to ensure seamless integration of network services. Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures. Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior network engineers. Evaluate and recommend new network technologies and solutions. Manage vendor relationships and oversee the implementation of third-party network services. Participate in on-call rotation to provide 24/7 support for critical network incidents. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; relevant certifications (e.g., CCIE, CCNP, JNCIE) are highly desirable. Minimum of 7 years of experience in network engineering and design. Extensive knowledge of TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, VLANs, VPNs, and other routing/switching protocols. Hands-on experience with network security technologies, including firewalls (e.g., Palo Alto, Cisco ASA), IDS/IPS, and NAC. Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios) and packet analysis. Experience with cloud networking concepts (AWS, Azure). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose complex network issues. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines. Demonstrated ability to work independently and take ownership of network infrastructure.
