[Remote] Prisma SD-WAN Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. The Prisma SD-WAN Consultant will provide deployment and configuration expertise for Palo Alto Networks solutions, acting as a Subject Matter Expert and leading customer engagements from planning to execution.
Responsibilities
- Conduct deployment readiness assessments and planning for Prisma SD-WAN and Prisma Access engagements, including circuit optimization and migration strategy
- Perform end-to-end deployments of Palo Alto Networks SASE products, including Prisma Access and Prisma SD-WAN, coordinated through the Professional Services Project Management Organization
- Host pre-install meetings and design planning sessions with customers; understand existing WAN architecture and migration requirements
- Lead customers through the full engagement lifecycle from planning, design, configuration, deployment, testing, and verification
- Design SD-WAN architectures aligned to customer requirements, including multi-path selection, application policies, and performance optimization
- Submit post-deployment documentation including design documents, configuration guides, and runbooks; provide closure on remaining action items
- Perform troubleshooting in coordination with customer teams and Palo Alto Networks Technical Assistance Center
- Perform after-hours on-call support as scheduled
- Maintain proficiency and continuously increase knowledge of Palo Alto Networks SASE products, software, and services
- Make key product and solution recommendations; advocate for customer needs and best practices
- Ensure customers maintain their SASE environments with proper configuration, policy tuning, and performance optimization
- Travel to customer sites as required (percentage dependent on engagement schedule)
Skills
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with SD-WAN and remote access technologies in enterprise environments
- Expert-level IP routing protocol knowledge: BGP, OSPF, and EIGRP configuration and troubleshooting
- Network security expertise including IPS/IDS, Zero-Trust Firewall (ZBFW), and Next-Generation Firewalls (NGFW)
- Application delivery expertise including L7 SLB, Global SLB, and traditional link load balancing
- Application performance monitoring expertise including response time metrics and application identification
- Packet capture analysis, fault isolation, and network troubleshooting remediation
- Hands-on implementation experience with legacy WAN solutions including MPLS, DMVPN, Frame Relay, Leased Line, Satellite, Internet VPN, and ECMP
- Global-scale network design and architecture experience
- Demonstrable virtualization experience (VMware, Microsoft Hyper-V, Citrix, Linux KVM)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to communicate technical concepts to customer stakeholders at all levels
- Desire to learn continuously and thrive on the cutting edge of networking technology
- Hands-on Prisma SD-WAN (CloudGenix) or competing SD-WAN platform (Fortinet, Cisco, Versa, Silver Peak) deployment experience
- Palo Alto Networks firewall and Panorama configuration experience (PAN-OS, NGFW)
- Cloud networking experience with Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud integration
- Experience with multi-tenant or service provider SD-WAN deployments
- Knowledge of SASE architecture and Prisma Access (formerly GlobalProtect) integration
- Palo Alto Networks certifications (PCNSE, PCSE-CN, or SD-WAN specialist credentials)
- Project management and stakeholder engagement experience
- Prior experience at a Palo Alto Networks partner, VAR, or MSP
