[Remote] Army & Air Force Systems International Business Development Lead

Lockheed Martin is a leading aerospace and defense company, and they are seeking an International Business Development Lead for their Sikorsky Aircraft Corporation's Army and Air Force Systems organization. The role focuses on driving strategic growth in the international rotary wing market by developing relationships with international customers, identifying new business opportunities, and collaborating with multi-functional teams to support business growth.
Responsibilities
- Create, maintain, and expand relationships with international customers to gain a detailed understanding of their near and long-term needs
- Develop a deep knowledge of customer desires and act as our external customers’ advocate within LM Sikorsky
- Identify, qualify, pursue, and capture new business opportunities with international customers
- Contribute to the development of long-range plans and regional strategies
- Develop, review, and execute customer engagement plans in support of current and future rotary wing opportunities
- Support Sikorsky trade show participation and preparations for customer engagements at trade shows and events
- Collaborate with multi-functional colleagues to develop strategies and proposals to position LM for international business growth and brief Sikorsky executives and LM leadership
- Manage New Business Fund accounts (Market Assist and Bid & Proposal)
- Provide timely and high quality staff work, including but not limited to presentations, white papers, activity reports, meeting notes, and opportunity tracking
- Conduct all business in strict compliance with all corporate command media and applicable state, federal, and international regulations
Skills
- 5-10 years of experience in aerospace and defense acquisitions, or equivalent experience within Government
- 5-10 years of experience with business development activities such as target identification, opportunity qualification, proposal development, and strategy planning, or equivalent experience within Government
- Working technical and domain knowledge of military requirements
- Understanding of the Foreign Military Sales (FMS) and Direct Commercial Sales (DCS) acquisition paths, and an ability to operate in either environment or a hybrid of both
- U.S. and international business development experience with demonstrated customer relationship skills
- Cross functional team experience on programs and/or proposals
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with emphasis on the Microsoft Office suite
- High degree of flexibility and ability to travel worldwide
- Ability to develop/carry out a strategy and convert to a successful execution
- Ability to multi-task, organize, and lead several initiatives at a time with minimal supervision
- Prior experience interfacing with and briefing senior customer and industry executives
- Domain knowledge and experience with Black Hawk helicopter platforms
- Understanding of U.S. Army Aviation
- Experience with Lockheed Martin new business capture process
- Public speaking experience and strong presentation skills
- Understanding of the FMS process and awareness of U.S. Government entities involved in international sales
- Deal closer – highly effective at bringing tasks and projects to a successful and timely conclusion
- Superior awareness of, and ability to effectively interact with, current and potential international customers and government stakeholders
- Experience working with international industry and awareness of industrial development / offsets requirements

- Full-time Remote Telework: The employee selected for this position will work remotely full time at a location other than a Lockheed Martin designated office/job site. Employees may travel to a Lockheed Martin office for periodic meetings.
- Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees.
- Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
- (Washington state applicants only) Non-represented full-time employees: accrue at least 10 hours per month of Paid Time Off (PTO) to be used for incidental absences and other reasons; receive at least 90 hours for holidays.
- Represented full time employees accrue 6.67 hours of Vacation per month; accrue up to 52 hours of sick leave annually; receive at least 96 hours for holidays.
- PTO, Vacation, sick leave, and holiday hours are prorated based on start date during the calendar year.
