[Remote] Jira Migration Consultant
Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. Blue Ridge Consultants is a rapidly growing Atlassian Gold Solution Partner specializing in Jira and Atlassian Cloud transformations. They are seeking a Jira Migration Consultant to lead technical migration engagements for clients, focusing on planning, executing, and validating migrations to Atlassian Cloud environments.
Responsibilities
- Lead Jira, Jira Service Management, and Confluence migration projects from discovery through post-migration support
- Assess client environments and develop migration strategies and execution plans
- Perform migration testing, validation, and production cutovers
- Configure Atlassian Cloud environments and implement best practices
- Identify and resolve migration blockers, data integrity issues, and application compatibility challenges
- Analyze workflows, permissions, schemes, custom fields, automations, and marketplace apps for migration readiness
- Conduct migration workshops and technical discovery sessions with client stakeholders
- Document migration plans, testing results, risks, and recommendations
- Train client administrators on Cloud administration and operational best practices
- Provide post-migration optimization recommendations and support
- Collaborate with internal consultants and leadership to ensure successful project delivery
Skills
- 3+ years of Jira administration experience
- Experience executing Jira Cloud migrations from Jira Server or Data Center
- Strong knowledge of Atlassian Cloud administration
- Experience using Jira Cloud Migration Assistant (JCMA)
- Strong understanding of: Projects, Workflows, Screens, Schemes, Permissions, Custom fields, Automation, User and group management
- Experience troubleshooting migration issues and data discrepancies
- Excellent communication and client-facing consulting skills
- Strong documentation and organizational skills
- Ability to manage multiple migration projects simultaneously
- Atlassian certifications (ACP, Jira Administrator, Cloud Administration, etc.)
- Experience working for an Atlassian Solution Partner
- Confluence migration experience
- Jira Service Management migration experience
- Atlassian Organization Administration experience
- Marketplace app migration experience
- Experience with: Assets, ScriptRunner, Tempo, Structure, JMWE, Automation for Jira, Atlassian Data Center administration experience
- Experience migrating from platforms such as: Azure DevOps, ServiceNow, Asana, Monday, Trello, Basic SQL, scripting, or data transformation experience
