[Remote] Email & SMS Growth Manager

The Giraffe is seeking an Email & SMS Growth Manager to build, optimize, and scale their lifecycle marketing channels as core drivers of lead generation and customer engagement across the home services industry. The role involves owning the strategy, execution, optimization, and performance of email and SMS channels to drive scalable lead volume and improve engagement metrics.
Responsibilities
- Own and scale Giraffe’s email and SMS marketing channels to drive consistent lead generation and measurable growth
- Audit, rebuild, and optimize existing lifecycle infrastructure, automations, segmentation, and campaign workflows
- Develop and execute high-performing email and SMS campaigns across multiple home services verticals
- Lead strategy, testing, experimentation, and optimization initiatives to continuously improve channel performance
- Analyze campaign performance and optimize metrics including deliverability, open rates, CTR, conversion rates, engagement, unsubscribe rates, and lead quality
- Build and optimize automated lifecycle journeys, nurture campaigns, and re-engagement flows
- Identify opportunities to improve monetization, engagement, retention, and operational efficiency using data-driven insights
- Ensure best practices across deliverability, compliance, list hygiene, segmentation, and SMS regulations
- Collaborate closely with growth, marketing, and operations teams to align lifecycle initiatives with broader acquisition goals
- Operate effectively in a fast-paced startup environment with evolving priorities and limited structure
- Take initiative, solve problems independently, and help build scalable processes as the company grows
Skills
- Proven experience managing high-performing email and SMS marketing programs in lead generation environments
- Strong understanding of lifecycle marketing, segmentation, deliverability, automation, and campaign optimization
- Experience with ESPs/CDPs and SMS platforms such as Klaviyo, Attentive, Postscript, Customer.io, Iterable, or similar tools
- Comfortable operating independently with a high level of ownership and accountability
- Self-starter mentality with the ability to move quickly, prioritize effectively, and adapt to change
- Performance-minded marketer who cares about outcomes, testing, and measurable business impact
- Experience working in lean teams or startup environments preferred
- Bonus points for experience in home services, consumer lead generation, or high-volume acquisition channels
