[Remote] Associate Vice President, Response Marketing

They are seeking an Associate Vice President of Response Marketing to lead the strategic development and execution of integrated non-digital direct response efforts that generate significant revenue while managing a team of marketing professionals.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the strategy and execution of multi-channel donor marketing programs (renewal, acquisition, stewardship) across non-digital direct response efforts ensuring alignment with strategic goals and donor experience
  • Manage a multi-million-dollar direct mail budget, optimizing revenue and expense performance to maximize net return and program effectiveness
  • Drive campaign strategy and creative development, including messaging, copywriting, and art direction, while coordinating production calendars and vendor deliverables
  • Oversee vendor relationships and performance, including agencies, printers, list brokers, and data partners, ensuring quality, cost-efficiency, and timely execution
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with digital channel owners, individual giving, corporate engagement, donor experience, and marketing teams to enhance retention, acquisition, and revenue growth
  • Monitor and analyze campaign performance, using data to optimize results, improve donor engagement, and inform future strategies
  • Provide strategic reporting and insights to executive leadership, translating results into actionable recommendations
  • Lead and coach a high-performing virtual team, fostering collaboration, accountability, and professional growth while providing direction and strategic alignment to deliver on Response Marketing objectives

Skills

  • 10+ years of experience in direct marketing strategy and campaign execution, including mail with a strong focus on fundraising and analytics
  • Proven leadership in managing internal teams and external vendors, with 4+ years overseeing high-performing, often remote, workgroups and agency partners
  • Expertise in developing and implementing strategic and tactical plans, driving process improvements and operational excellence in complex organizational environments
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills, with a track record of cross-functional leadership to achieve fundraising and marketing goals
  • Extensive experience leveraging customer databases and marketing automation tools, such as Salesforce Marketing Cloud or HubSpot to support data-driven campaign strategies
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with a preference for experience in direct response fundraising copywriting and editing
  • Analytical mindset with problem-solving capabilities, including familiarity with tools like SQL to evaluate campaign performance and inform decision-making
