[Remote] Account Executive, Outside Sales

Note: The job is a remote job and is open to candidates in USA. OOCL North America Group is seeking an outside salesperson to support business development and customer relationship management within the Charlotte, NC market. This role is responsible for identifying new business opportunities, growing existing customer relationships, and developing territory sales plans to support revenue growth within the ocean transportation and logistics industry.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop new business opportunities within the assigned sales territory
  • Maintain and grow existing customer accounts through regular communication, customer meetings, and business reviews
  • Develop and execute sales plans focused on revenue growth, customer value, and contribution improvement
  • Support bids, pricing discussions, customer proposals, and contract opportunities
  • Collaborate with internal teams including Trades department (pricing/rates), Customer Service department, Operations department, and the Sales department
  • Monitor market conditions, customer needs, and competitive activity to support sales strategy
  • Adhere to OOCL’s competition compliance policies and procedures in all business activities
  • Represent OOCL professionally in customer-facing and industry-related interactions

Skills

  • Minimum of 4 years of sales experience in ocean transportation, steamship, freight forwarding, logistics, or a related transportation industry
  • Must reside in or near Charlotte, NC
  • Ability to travel approximately 25%, or as needed
  • Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle required
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, including PowerPoint, Excel, Word, Teams, Outlook, and SharePoint
  • Prior outside sales, territory sales, or account management experience preferred
  • Strong customer relationship management and business development skills
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, listening, and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organization, planning, and prioritization abilities
  • Self-motivated, adaptable, and comfortable working independently in a remote/outside sales environment
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams
