Our academic results speak for themselves. About the role As Head of Department, English, you'll lead a team of teachers delivering A-level English to students around the world. You'll set the academic standard, support and develop teachers, oversee curriculum and assessment, and ensure every student gets a consistently excellent experience, whether they're learning in group classes, small groups, or one-to-one. You'll report to the Principal and teach 12 of 22 periods, with 10 release periods for leadership work. What you'll do Lead the English department: meetings, learning walks, lesson observations, and professional development Coach and support teachers across all learning modes, including new Da Vinci (1:1) teachers Own curriculum quality and alignment with A-level specifications Oversee internal and external examinations, moderation, and post-exam analysis Monitor student progress and lead interventions where needed Champion strong digital pedagogy across the team Teach English classes yourself, modelling great practice About you Qualified English teacher with strong A-level experience Proven leadership or middle-leadership experience in an academic setting Confident with digital learning platforms and online teaching Skilled coach who can develop teachers and lift outcomes Data-literate, organised, and able to balance leadership with teaching Excellent communicator with students, parents, and colleagues We look forward to your application!
