Position Overview – Customer Service Representative

As a Customer Service Representative at arenaflex, you will be the face of our retail banking branch in Coffeyville, KS. You will deliver a caring, personalized client experience, handle a wide range of sales and service transactions, and proactively identify financial needs to recommend appropriate products and services. This role blends transaction processing with consultative selling, ensuring every customer leaves the branch feeling valued and financially confident.

Reporting Structure

  • Reports to: Senior Branch Manager or Branch Manager
  • Department: Retail Banking
  • Supervision Received: Moderate (direct guidance from the Branch Manager)
  • Supervision Given: None (individual contributor role)

Key Responsibilities

  • Relationship Building: Proactively reach out to existing and prospective customers to expand arenaflex banking relationships.
  • Sales & Service Goals: Meet and exceed individual and team targets for product sales, account openings, and service transactions.
  • Consultative Advising: Engage customers in meaningful conversations about their financial goals, offering advice‑led recommendations that align with arenaflex’s product suite.
  • Product Knowledge: Maintain a deep understanding of all arenaflex products—including checking, savings, loans, mortgages, and digital banking tools—to accurately process deposits, loan applications, and account openings.
  • Community Involvement: Represent arenaflex at local events, support community initiatives, and act as an ambassador for our brand in the Coffeyville area.
  • Compliance & Security: Adhere to arenaflex’s Code of Conduct, regulatory requirements, and internal audit procedures; complete all assigned compliance training.
  • Digital Banking Promotion: Introduce customers to mobile banking, online banking, ATMs, and ITMs, helping them adopt convenient, secure digital solutions.
  • Transaction Processing: Accurately handle cash drawer responsibilities, night deposit bags, ATM deposits, vault balancing, and cash recycler operations.
  • Customer Issue Resolution: Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve client concerns promptly, escalating complex matters to the appropriate specialist when needed.
  • Phone & In‑Person Service: Answer inbound calls professionally, greet walk‑in clients, and follow established service guidelines to ensure a seamless experience.
  • Team Collaboration: Demonstrate arenaflex’s high‑performance behaviors—teamwork, leading by example, and service excellence—in every interaction.

Essential Qualifications (Required)

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED; equivalent business experience is acceptable.
  • Experience: Minimum 1 year of retail banking experience with a proven ability to process transactions and employ an advice‑led approach to identify additional product opportunities.
  • Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills; ability to personalize product benefits for diverse customer needs.
  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with banking platforms, core processing systems, and digital banking tools.
  • Compliance Awareness: Understanding of banking regulations and willingness to complete ongoing compliance training.

Preferred Qualifications (Desired)

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3+ years of retail banking experience, with a track record of opening new accounts and delivering consultative sales.
  • Leadership Potential: Demonstrated ability to mentor junior staff and contribute to branch initiatives.

  • Capability to perform repetitive motions associated with cash handling and transaction processing.

Work Schedule & Licensing

Work hours may vary based on branch needs and can include evenings and weekends. The role requires registration with the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System Registry (NMLS) in accordance with SAFE Act requirements.
