Position Overview

As a Customer Service Representative on our Life and Annuity Operations team, you will serve as the first point of contact for our valued customers, including policyholders, beneficiaries, and financial professionals. Working from the comfort of your home office, you will handle inbound calls addressing a wide range of customer service inquiries and concerns related to life insurance policies and annuity contracts.

Your primary mission is to deliver a positive, memorable customer experience while helping clients feel more confident about their financial futures. You'll build meaningful rapport with customers, educate them about their contracts, and utilize multiple resources and databases to provide accurate, timely information. Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Interaction Excellence: Communicate with approximately 50 to 90 customers per day, answering questions and providing information regarding their life insurance and annuity needs through the effective utilization of multiple applications and platforms.
  • Confidentiality and Compliance: Maintain strict customer confidentiality while complying with all privacy regulations and consistently meeting or exceeding department metrics, quality standards, and service level agreements.
  • Research and Documentation: Perform thorough research to respond accurately to customer inquiries and document all customer interactions in the appropriate systems with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Ownership and De-escalation: Take ownership of each call from start to finish, working diligently to resolve customer concerns and de-escalate situations when customers are frustrated or confused.
  • Professional Communication: Communicate effectively through phone and email with both internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a customer-centric, professional demeanor at all times.
  • Flexibility and Responsiveness: Demonstrate flexibility and responsiveness to meet customer needs, handling routine work independently while recognizing when to escalate complex issues.
  • Process Improvement: Identify general issues and concerns, and recommend process improvements that positively influence team performance, quality outcomes, and the overall customer experience.

Training and Schedule Details

At arenaflex, we invest heavily in your success from day one. Our comprehensive training program is designed to equip you with the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to excel in your role.

  • Initial Training Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM EST for the first 4 to 8 weeks. Please note that no approved time off will be granted during the first 60 days, and it is strongly recommended that there be no unapproved time off during the first 90 days.
  • Weeks 3-8: Virtual classroom training including live call shadowing opportunities with experienced team members.
  • Week 9: Guided calls with dedicated trainer support to help you transition confidently into independent call handling.
  • Available Resources: Access to a comprehensive knowledge base, team chat groups for collaboration and support, and a chat-based help desk for real-time assistance.
  • Regular Schedule After Training: Must be available to work 8-hour shifts Monday through Friday, with the earliest start time of 7:55 AM EST and shifts ending no earlier than 6:05 PM EST. Overtime may be required during peak volume periods.
  • Break Compliance: Must adhere to scheduled breaks and lunch periods as required by department policy.

Compensation

arenaflex offers a competitive hourly rate of $22.21 per hour for this position. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as work experience, education, location, licensure requirements, and demonstrated proficiency and qualifications. In addition to base pay, this role may be eligible for our Annual Incentive Program, which is discretionary and based on company, business unit, and individual performance. Other rewards may include long-term incentives and our comprehensive standard benefits package.

What We're Looking For: Required Experience and Qualifications

  • Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Professional Experience: 2 to 3 years of general client service experience that directly aligns with the specific responsibilities of this position.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, with diverse audiences.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with others and exhibit strong interpersonal skills.
  • Customer Passion: A strong passion for helping, servicing, and educating others, combined with analytical skills, attention to detail, and a naturally optimistic outlook.
  • Learning Agility: Eagerness to learn new concepts, products, and systems, and willingness to complete research as needed.
  • Organizational Skills: Strong organizational abilities and demonstrated capability to multitask effectively in a high-volume environment.
  • Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and general computer navigation skills.
  • Policy Adherence: Ability to adhere to company policies, procedures, and established guidelines.

Required Capabilities

  • Closing Shift Availability: If assigned to a closing shift, must be able to work until call queues are closed for the day, which may extend past 6:05 PM EST.
  • Home Office Environment: Must have the ability to work from home in an environment conducive to being on the phone throughout the day without distractions or interruptions.
  • Internet Bandwidth: Must have internet bandwidth of at least 12 Mbps (Megabits per second). Preferred bandwidth is 25 Mbps to perform at full capacity. Candidates can verify their internet speed by searching "Speed Test" on Google and selecting "Run Speed Test," which takes approximately 30 seconds to complete.

Preferred Experience (Nice-to-Have)

  • Prior financial services experience is a plus.
  • Customer service experience or data entry experience while using multiple systems simultaneously.
