Why Join arenaflex?

At arenaflex, we are a boutique direct‑marketing firm that has been helping alumni associations connect their members with valuable insurance solutions since 1973. Our legacy is built on trust, personalized service, and an entrepreneurial spirit that empowers every employee to make a meaningful impact. With a tight‑knit team of roughly 28 professionals, we foster a collaborative environment where ideas are heard, innovation is encouraged, and each individual’s growth is a priority.

Our business model is unique: we partner with colleges and universities to offer tailored insurance products that meet the specific needs of alumni and their families. This niche focus allows us to maintain a high‑touch, relationship‑driven approach—far removed from the impersonal nature of traditional call centers. If you thrive in a setting where you can genuinely help people understand and secure their financial future, arenaflex is the place for you.

Position Overview

The Remote Customer Service Representative (also referred to as a Client Service Representative) is the front line of our customer experience. You will engage with current and prospective policyholders via phone and email, providing clear, courteous, and accurate information about our insurance offerings. This role is ideal for students, retirees, or anyone seeking flexible, home‑based work that offers both part‑time and full‑time options. We are looking for long‑term team members who are based in the United States and who can adapt to seasonal fluctuations in workload.

Key Responsibilities

Primary Duties

  • Answer inbound phone calls and respond to email inquiries from existing and potential customers with a friendly, patient, and professional demeanor.
  • Explain insurance product features, coverage options, and eligibility criteria in plain language, ensuring customers fully understand their choices.
  • Maintain accurate records of all interactions in our CRM system, documenting key details and follow‑up actions.

Additional Responsibilities

  • Draft well‑written, personalized email responses that address customer questions, concerns, and requests for additional information.
  • Generate insurance quotes, coordinate with underwriting teams, and assemble digital insurance certificates for approved policies.
  • Collaborate with the sales and underwriting departments to resolve complex cases, ensuring a seamless experience for the customer.
  • Identify opportunities to cross‑sell or upsell additional coverage options that align with the customer’s needs, while adhering to compliance guidelines.
  • Participate in ongoing training sessions, webinars, and product knowledge updates to stay current on industry trends and internal processes.
  • Provide feedback to management on recurring customer issues, suggesting process improvements that enhance efficiency and satisfaction.

Essential Qualifications

  • Computer proficiency: Comfortable using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) and navigating web‑based applications.
  • Communication excellence: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex insurance concepts in an understandable manner.
  • Reasoning and problem‑solving: Ability to assess customer needs, ask probing questions, and recommend appropriate solutions.
  • Multitasking capability: Proven track record of handling multiple inquiries, tasks, and priorities without sacrificing quality.
  • Flexibility: Willingness to adjust work schedule to accommodate peak periods, seasonal volume spikes, and occasional after‑hours support.
  • U.S. residency: All applicants must be based in the United States and have the legal right to work remotely for a U.S. company.

Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Previous experience in client service, customer support, or a related field, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
  • Holding an active insurance license (e.g., Life, Health, Property & Casualty) is a significant advantage.
  • Familiarity with CRM platforms such as Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar tools.
  • Experience working remotely in a self‑directed environment, demonstrating strong time‑management and accountability.
  • Demonstrated ability to meet or exceed performance metrics (e.g., response time, customer satisfaction scores).

Core Skills & Competencies

  • Empathy: Ability to listen actively and respond with genuine concern for the customer’s situation.
  • Attention to detail: Accuracy in data entry, quote preparation, and documentation is critical.
  • Adaptability: Comfort with evolving processes, new product launches, and shifting priorities.
  • Team collaboration: While the role is remote, you will work closely with underwriting, sales, and compliance teams.
  • Technical aptitude: Quick learner of new software tools, portals, and digital communication platforms.

Career Growth & Learning Opportunities

At arenaflex, we view every employee as a long‑term investment. As you master the fundamentals of client service, you will have pathways to advance into higher‑impact roles such as:

  • Senior Client Services Specialist: Lead a small team of remote representatives, mentor new hires, and oversee complex case handling.

  • Insurance Sales Consultant: Transition into a revenue‑generating role, leveraging your product knowledge to drive new business.
  • Training & Development Advisor: Design and deliver onboarding and continuous‑learning programs for the customer service department.

We support professional development through tuition reimbursement, access to industry certifications, and regular internal workshops. Whether you aim to deepen your expertise in insurance or broaden your skill set into broader financial services, arenaflex provides the resources and mentorship to help you achieve your goals.
