Key Responsibilities
As a Retail Customer Service Cashier & Front of House Associate at arenaflex, you will be the face of our organization and the first point of contact for every customer who visits our location. In this fast-paced, dynamic, and people-centered role, your contributions will directly shape the customer experience and the reputation of our brand. Your day-to-day responsibilities will encompass a broad and engaging range of duties, including the following:
Customer Service & Engagement
- Deliver fast, friendly, and accurate service to every customer, ensuring each interaction reflects arenaflex's commitment to warmth, professionalism, and genuine care.
- Assist customers in locating products within our store, answering questions about merchandise, fuel services, and amenities, and proactively addressing customer needs before they are voiced.
- Serve as an ambassador for arenaflex, representing our brand values in every conversation and ensuring that customers leave our location feeling valued and well-served.
- Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and feedback with patience, empathy, and a solutions-oriented mindset, escalating issues to management when appropriate.
- Build rapport with regular customers, including professional drivers and fleet operators, by learning their preferences and providing personalized service that keeps them coming back.
Cashiering & Transaction Management
- Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems with precision and efficiency to process customer transactions, including cash, credit, debit, and fleet card payments, ensuring every transaction is accurate and compliant with all applicable state and local laws.
- Balance cash drawers at the beginning and end of each shift, maintaining meticulous records and reporting any discrepancies immediately.
- Identify and communicate relevant promotions, loyalty programs, fuel discounts, and product offers to customers at the point of sale, creating additional value for both the customer and arenaflex.
- Remain knowledgeable about age-restricted products, sale restrictions, and store policies, ensuring compliance with all legal requirements.
Food Safety & Quality Assurance
- Utilize a variety of methods and technology—including temperature monitoring tools, food safety checklists, and observation protocols—to ensure that all fresh food, deli products, and prepared items consistently meet the highest safety and quality standards.
- Follow established food handling procedures, monitor expiration dates, and communicate any food safety concerns to the appropriate team members or management promptly.
- Participate in food safety training programs offered by arenaflex to maintain certification and stay current with industry best practices.
Cleanliness & Facility Maintenance
- Take pride in maintaining a clean, organized, and welcoming environment by attending to your direct working area, the sales floor, restrooms, shower facilities, and outdoor areas including gas and diesel pump islands.
- Complete trash runs, restocking duties, and surface cleaning on a regular schedule throughout your shift, ensuring that the facility always reflects arenaflex's high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
- Identify and report maintenance needs—such as lighting issues, equipment malfunctions, or supply shortages—to management to ensure prompt resolution.
Flexibility & Cross-Training
- Embrace the varied nature of the role by demonstrating flexibility and willingness to step into different functions as business needs evolve, including cross-training opportunities in arenaflex Restaurant Services, Fresh Kitchen operations, Facility Maintenance, and even leadership-focused tracks.

Qualifications & Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- A genuine passion for customer service and a commitment to treating every person with respect, patience, and positivity.
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the facility for extended periods; ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing 25 pounds or more as required by the role.
- Comfort and adaptability working in a variety of temperatures, including both climate-controlled indoor spaces and outdoor environments such as fuel pump islands.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of customers and team members.
- Basic mathematical proficiency for handling cash transactions, calculating change, and balancing registers accurately.
- Ability to learn and follow established procedures, safety protocols, and company policies with consistency and attention to detail.
- A positive, team-oriented attitude and a willingness to take initiative in a fast-paced work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail, customer service, hospitality, or food service is valued but absolutely not required—we are committed to training and developing our team members from the ground up.
- Experience operating POS systems or similar transaction technology.
- Food safety certification (ServSafe or equivalent) or willingness to obtain certification through arenaflex's training programs.
- Bilingual abilities, particularly in English and Spanish, to better serve our diverse customer base.

This role is physically active and varied.
