With a network that spans continents and a culture that celebrates innovation, arenaflex continuously redefines the standards of airline excellence. As the industry evolves toward smarter, data‑driven operations, arenaflex is investing heavily in the next generation of talent to keep its operational heartbeat strong and its customers soaring.

Position Overview – Remote Customer Support Co‑Op

arenaflex’s Operations and Customer Center (OCC) is the strategic nerve center that monitors, coordinates, and resolves operational disruptions across the entire airline network. We are seeking motivated, analytical, and collaborative co‑op students to join our remote team for three alternating work terms (Fall 2024, Summer 2025, and Spring 2026). This full‑time, remote internship offers a unique blend of hands‑on operational experience, data analytics exposure, and customer‑centric problem solving—all while working from the comfort of your home.

Key Responsibilities – What You’ll Do

As a co‑op in the OCC, you will rotate through two core assignments, each designed to deepen your understanding of airline operations and sharpen your analytical toolkit.

Load Control Center (LCC) Assignment

  • Assist in calculating aircraft weight and balance to ensure compliance with manufacturer specifications and safety regulations.
  • Collaborate with the LCC back‑office team to design and implement workflow‑automation tools that reduce manual effort for frontline staff.
  • Analyze historical load data to identify trends, recommend process improvements, and support decision‑making during peak travel periods.
  • Prepare clear, concise reports and visualizations for senior leadership, highlighting key performance indicators such as load efficiency and turnaround time.
  • Participate in cross‑functional meetings with pilots, dispatchers, and maintenance crews to align load strategies with operational goals.

Fuel System Assignment

  • Develop data‑driven strategies to optimize annual jet fuel consumption while adhering to sustainability targets.
  • Research and prototype methods for determining safe, efficient fuel loads that balance aircraft range, payload, and environmental impact.
  • Support the creation of routing optimization models that reduce fuel burn and improve on‑time performance.
  • Contribute to cargo forecasting initiatives by analyzing demand patterns and recommending load‑balancing adjustments.
  • Document and present findings to the Fuel Strategy team, highlighting cost‑saving opportunities and risk mitigation tactics.

Minimum Qualifications – What We Require

  • Education: Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Economics, Industrial Engineering, Aviation Management, or a related field.
  • Availability: Commitment to three alternating semesters (Fall 2024, Summer 2025, Spring 2026) with a Monday‑through‑Friday schedule. Must be enrolled in an accredited institution throughout the co‑op period.
  • Age & Work Authorization: Minimum 18 years of age and authorized to work in the United States.
  • Technical Proficiency: Strong command of Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, macros) and PowerPoint for executive‑level presentations.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication abilities; capable of translating complex data insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
  • Team Orientation: Demonstrated team‑first attitude, with a willingness to support peers and contribute to collective success.

  • Safety Mindset: Commitment to safety and security for yourself, teammates, and the broader arenaflex community.
  • Diversity & Inclusion: Appreciation for diverse perspectives, cultures, and problem‑solving approaches.

Preferred Qualifications – Nice‑to‑Have Skills

  • Experience with data‑analysis tools and languages such as SQL, SAS, Python, R, Tableau, or Power BI.
  • Familiarity with airline operations, scheduling, and planning concepts.
  • Leadership experience in student clubs, community organizations, or project teams.
  • Passion for a long‑term career in aviation and a desire to serve arenaflex’s customers with excellence.

Core Skills & Competencies for Success

  • Analytical Thinking: Ability to dissect large data sets, identify patterns, and draw meaningful conclusions.
