Key Responsibilities

As a Bookkeeping Software Customer Support Specialist working with arenaflex, you will serve as a trusted advisor and problem-solver for customers navigating accounting software platforms. Your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting customers with bookkeeping software processes — including but not limited to setting up company files, managing chart of accounts, posting journal entries, reconciling bank statements, generating financial reports, and customizing software settings to fit specific business needs.
  • Providing phone-based customer support — answering inbound calls from customers, diagnosing their questions, and walking them through step-by-step solutions in a clear, confident, and friendly manner.
  • Troubleshooting navigation and feature usage — helping customers locate the right menus, reports, and tools within QuickBooks Online or comparable platforms, ensuring they can perform tasks independently after the call.
  • Addressing accounting workflow questions — offering guidance on accounts receivable (AR), accounts payable (AP), general ledger management, invoice creation, expense tracking, and reconciliation processes.
  • Identifying opportunities for cross-sell recommendations — when appropriate, suggesting additional features, services, or product tiers that may benefit the customer based on their needs and current usage.
  • Taking ownership of customer issues — managing each inquiry from start to resolution, ensuring no detail is overlooked and the customer feels heard, supported, and confident in the outcome.
  • Documenting interactions accurately — recording call summaries, customer concerns, troubleshooting steps, and resolutions in the appropriate support systems to maintain high service standards and continuity of care.

Essential Qualifications and Experience

  • Proven bookkeeping or accounting experience — hands-on knowledge of AR, AP, journal entries, bank reconciliations, chart of accounts, financial reporting, and general ledger management.

Compensation and Perks

arenaflex offers competitive compensation for independent contractors, with the following earning potential:

  • Hourly pay ranging from $15.30 to $20.40, depending on experience and program performance.
  • Guaranteed minimum pay — contractors are guaranteed a minimum of 45 minutes of pay for each full 60-minute hour they are available.

Schedule and Availability

As an independent contractor with arenaflex, you will have the freedom to set your own schedule within the following parameters:

  • Available hours must be scheduled between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. Central Standard Time (CST), Monday through Friday.
  • Flexible scheduling allows you to work full-time or part-time hours based on your availability and preferences.
  • You must be available to commit to your scheduled hours and provide consistent, reliable service to customers.

Technology and Workstation Requirements

To ensure a seamless customer experience, all contractors must meet the following technology and workspace requirements:

  • Personal computer (tablets are not permitted).
  • Broadband internet connection with a minimum download speed of 10 Mbps.
  • Wired internet connection — Wi-Fi and mobile internet connections are not permitted.
  • Operating system: Windows 10 or Windows 11.
  • Valid antivirus software installed, running, and kept up to date.
  • Wired USB headset with microphone for clear, professional audio during calls.
  • Mac users: Only Intel-based Mac machines with Windows 11 installed via Apple's Boot Camp utility are supported.
  • No VPN usage during working hours — computers may not connect to the internet through private VPN services (e.g., NordVPN, McAfee VPN).
  • Quiet, organized workspace free from interruptions, with a dedicated desk area for professional call handling.

Important Eligibility and Location Information

  • Contractors must live and work from the United States.
  • Unfortunately, arenaflex is unable to work with contractors residing in California, New York, Pennsylvania, or Washington at this time.
  • All candidates must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to program assignment.
  • This is a contract / independent contractor position, not a W-2 employee role. Contractors are responsible for their own taxes and are not eligible for company-provided employee benefits such as health insurance, retirement plans, paid time off, or unemployment benefits.
