ETL / Data Migration Consultant (Night Shift)

Vaco is actively seeking a Business Intelligence / Data Migration Consultant for a 6+ month contract position to support our client's (nightly) Data Transformation (BIDT) and Data Movement (BIDM) initiatives. Position Summary The Business Intelligence Data Transformation (BIDT) and Data Movement (BIDM) consultant is crucial for ensuring the timely delivery of nightly business commitments which include critical projects and the operationalization of the cloud LakeHouse data platform. This role will primarily support the ETL / data load processes that refresh the operational data warehouse Monday through Friday from 10:00 pm - 6:00 am (CST). Key Responsibilities: • Support and optimize ETL / Load processes to ensure the operational data warehouse is refreshed nightly with accurate and high-performance data. • Develop and maintain processes for extracting data from and loading data into external sources and systems. • Assist in the operationalization of the cloud LakeHouse data platform, ensuring it meets business needs and performance standards. • Design, develop, and implement data transformation processes using SQL, SSIS, SSDT, and other tools as required. • Utilize Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Git, and Visual Studio for version control, code management, and collaboration. • Work within Agile methodologies, particularly Scrum, to manage and prioritize tasks, participate in sprint planning, and deliver incremental improvements. • Develop and execute automated tests, ensuring high-quality code and adherence to test-driven development practices. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Experience with SQL and SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS). • Proficiency in SQL Server Data Tools (SSDT) and SQL Server Management Studio. • Experience with CData is desired. • dbt (data build tool) experience is desired. • Astronomer exposure for data orchestration is a plus. • Familiarity with Microsoft Team Foundation Server, Visual Studio, and Git. • Knowledge of cloud platforms and technologies such as AWS and Azure is desired.
