Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist

About the position The Women's Imaging Center, a division of Together Women's Health, is seeking a full-time Medical Records Transcriptionist and Data Entry Specialist. This role is essential for accurately transcribing radiology reports and managing patient records, ensuring timely and precise documentation to support patient care. The position requires on-site presence and offers some flexibility in hours based on the radiologists' schedules. Responsibilities • Transcribe radiology reports from dictated recordings and canned reports including mammograms, ultrasounds, MRI, and other imaging modalities. , • Update patient records with breast density, follow-up dates, surgical follow-ups, and physical charts. , • Review and edit drafts for clarity, accuracy, and grammar, adhering to departmental and industry standards. , • Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to clarify dictation and ensure completeness of reports. , • Maintain confidentiality and comply with all legal and ethical standards related to patient information and medical records. , • Prioritize and manage workload effectively to meet transcription deadlines and turnaround times. , • Stay updated with medical terminology and advancements in radiology to enhance transcription accuracy. Requirements • Proven experience as a medical transcriptionist, specifically in radiology, with a strong understanding of radiology terminology and procedures. , • Proficiency in transcribing medical dictation using transcription software and word processing tools. , • Excellent typing skills and attention to detail with a high level of accuracy in transcribing complex medical terminology. , • Knowledge of medical ethics, confidentiality standards, and regulatory requirements related to healthcare documentation. , • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with radiologists and healthcare professionals. , • Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently. , • Certification or diploma in medical transcription or a related field is preferred. , • Familiarity with EHR systems is necessary.
