About the position The Gorman Virtual Academy is seeking a dedicated and qualified Elementary Teacher to join our team in a virtual setting. This position is designed for educators who are passionate about teaching and are capable of delivering high-quality instruction to elementary students in an online environment. The ideal candidate will possess a current Clear California teaching credential, as mandated by the State of California and the No Child Left Behind (NCLB) requirements. This role is part-time, requiring up to 26 hours of work per week, spread across five days. The successful candidate will be responsible for facilitating learning in a virtual resource center, ensuring that students receive the support they need to thrive academically. In this role, the teacher will engage with students through various online platforms, providing instruction in core subjects and fostering a positive learning environment. The teacher will also be responsible for assessing student progress, communicating with parents, and collaborating with other educators to enhance the educational experience. Previous successful teaching experience, particularly in Science and independent study online programs, is preferred. Candidates must be prepared to pass a Criminal Justice Fingerprinting and TB Risk Assessment Questionnaire or TB Test prior to hire. Additionally, applicants must submit a complete application package, including a resume, letter of introduction, and three letters of recommendation, to be considered for this position.
