About the position The Sr. New Business Manager is a pivotal role within Cigna Healthcare, focusing on the development and implementation of sales strategies tailored for targeted commercial accounts, particularly those with 500 to 3000 employees, as well as government and education clients in the North Florida market. This position requires a deep understanding of the insurance landscape, including various product lines, to effectively align the sales distribution strategy for larger employers. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with the market's leadership team to drive the sales strategy for government and education prospects, ensuring that the approach is both strategic and effective in meeting the unique needs of these sectors. In this role, the Sr. New Business Manager will actively pursue new medical and dental business opportunities through direct channels and brokerage partnerships. This includes targeting existing dental-only accounts for first-time medical adds, thereby expanding the service offerings to these clients. The individual will be responsible for meeting or exceeding annual business plans, which are measured by new firm acquisitions, revenue growth, membership increases, and overall profitability objectives. Additionally, the role involves targeted sales and retention engagement with commercial and government prospects, ensuring a comprehensive approach to market growth. The Sr. New Business Manager will manage the sales process for a range of products, including Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Behavioral, and Supplemental offerings. This includes reviewing and responding to Requests for Proposals (RFPs), managing internal strategies, and presenting strategic proposals to potential clients. The position demands a proactive approach to sales, with a focus on achieving total market sales growth while engaging with targeted sales prospects. Responsibilities • Develop and implement sales strategies for targeted commercial accounts and government/education clients in North Florida. , • Pursue new medical and dental business for accounts with 500-3000 employees through direct and brokerage channels. , • Target first-time medical adds to existing large dental-only accounts. , • Meet or exceed annual business plan metrics including new firms, revenue, membership, and profitability objectives. , • Engage in targeted sales and retention efforts with commercial and government prospects as necessary. , • Manage the sales process for Medical, Dental, Pharmacy, Behavioral, and Supplemental products. , • Review and respond to RFPs, manage internal strategy, and present strategic proposals. Requirements • Bachelor's degree or equivalent related work experience. , • Minimum 5 years of direct and/or broker distribution quota-driven sales experience in the health care or insurance industry. , • Experience selling commercial medical group insurance is preferred. , • Health and life insurance license preferred or obtainable. , • Understanding of self-insured policies preferred. , • Experience in the 500-3000 group benefit space preferred. , • Experience selling to local governments and/or school districts preferred. , • Exposure to and/or understanding of local government procurement and/or elected official relationship dynamics preferred. , • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional enterprise teams to achieve common results preferred.
