Tecton is the industry’s leading feature platform - used by Data Scientists and ML Engineers at ML powerhouses like Atlassian, Block, and Coinbase. By taking on this role, you will be responsible for bringing Tecton’s existing technology foundation to our customers’ GenAI use cases. The field is evolving quickly and you’ll need to be on your toes, and deeply immersed in the GenAI space. You will expand Tecton’s offering into a versatile platform that can power diverse GenAI use cases such as hosting RAG applications, using LLMs to extract features, generating historical training data to fine tune enriched prompts, and powering agentic workflows with tools. You will work directly with ML/AI Platform teams & use case teams. This will expose you to the bleeding edge of production AI applications that have immediate impact on our customers’ bottom lines. You will learn how AI is applied across use cases as varied as recommendation systems, search ranking, fraud detection, anti money laundering, price predictions, safety predictions, personalization, credit underwriting and much much more. Responsibilities • Work closely with the CEO/CTO to define and lead Tecton’s GenAI strategy. • Drive GenAI initiatives from ideation to delivery in a collaborative environment and partner across cross-functional teams and Product Managers. • Identify, develop, and validate the most important end-to-end GenAI use cases in Tecton. • Work closely with customers to launch impactful new capabilities at a rapid pace and close the gap for technical adoption of Tecton’s GenAI capabilities. • Take an experimental and iterative approach, prioritizing swift progress, and navigate through a high degree of ambiguity. Qualifications • Bachelor's, Master's, or equivalent degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. A PhD is a plus, especially with a focus on AI/ML or Natural Language Processing (NLP). • Minimum of 6+ years as a Machine Learning Engineer or Software Engineer specializing in machine learning infrastructure or GenAI applications. • Proven track record of building, fine-tuning, and deploying machine learning or generative AI models in production environments. • Strong proficiency in Python and familiarity with key libraries such as NumPy, pandas, scikit-learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, or JAX/Flax. • Hands-on expertise with deep learning frameworks, such as PyTorch or TensorFlow, and familiarity with libraries like Hugging Face Transformers for LLM development. • Experience working with large language models (LLMs) such as GPT, BERT, Llama, or Claude, including fine-tuning, prompt engineering, and deploying LLMs in production. • Proficiency in working with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) for deploying ML/GenAI pipelines, including familiarity with services like S3, Lambda, SageMaker, Vertex AI, or equivalent. • Good familiarity with the rapidly evolving market and a strong intuition for identifying valuable, unique opportunities versus trends that lack long-term potential. • A pronounced inclination toward experimental and iterative approaches, prioritizing swift progress, and being able to navigate through a high degree of ambiguity. • Proven Competency in driving projects from ideation to delivery in a collaborative environment and being able to partner across cross-functional teams and Product Managers. • Previous experience working on 0 to 1 projects is a plus. The estimated US base salary range for this position is $189,000 - $258,000 annually for employees based within California & New York. In addition to base salary, we offer competitive equity & comprehensive benefits such as medical, dental, vision, life, 401(K), flexible paid time off, 10 paid holidays each calendar year, sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws. Individual compensation packages are based on multiple factors such as location, level, role scope, and complexity, as well as additional job-related factors such as skills, experience, and expertise. If you live within a 30-mile radius from one of our Offices in San Francisco and New York, you may be required to work in-office two days per week.
