About the position The Associate Director of Business Analytics at UnitedHealthcare plays a crucial leadership role in providing actionable business reporting to support strategic priorities within the health plan. This position focuses on business intelligence related to Medicaid products, provider performance, and member experience, while overseeing initiatives that drive decision-making and strategic planning. The role involves analyzing data to identify trends, conducting predictive modeling, and collaborating with various teams to enhance performance and assess new capabilities. Responsibilities • Provide actionable, timely, and accurate business reporting to identify and implement strategic priorities. , • Oversee initiatives and lead teams across functional areas to drive decision-making and strategic planning. , • Analyze data to identify trends and uncover insights related to healthcare cost and quality. , • Conduct predictive modeling to inform business strategies and market-specific product insights. , • Collaborate with provider-facing teams to improve quality and accurate diagnosis performance. , • Liaise with external provider teams to evaluate opportunities and consult on data needs. , • Support data and analytics of vendor engagements, identifying business opportunities and generating recommendations. , • Lead the development of standardized reports, dashboards, and analytical tools to monitor key performance metrics. Requirements • Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) certification. , • 4+ years of professional data analysis experience with modeling and reporting tools. , • 4+ years of experience with SAS, R, SQL, Python, Tableau in healthcare analytics. , • 3+ years of experience creating automated data reporting systems for business intelligence. , • 3+ years of experience presenting business insights to executive management. , • Experience utilizing verbal, written, and visual communication skills to support recommendations. , • Experience managing multiple initiatives in a dynamic environment. Nice-to-haves • 5+ years of analytical experience in healthcare, preferably with government programs. , • Experience using UHG data systems related to claims and demographics. , • Experience with deploying algorithmic tools for predictive analytics in large datasets. , • Knowledge of Medicaid risk methodologies such as Clinical Risk Groupings.
