Manager Workers Compensation Claims & Risk

Job Skills / Requirements The Claims Manager is responsible for investigating and overseeing all workers' compensation, general liability, and auto claims to minimize the company's financial exposure and future experience. This role involves processing and assessing each claim and collaborating with third-party insurance carriers, attorneys, physicians, and other involved parties to ensure proper benefits are paid, company policies and procedures are followed, and claims are resolved fairly and promptly. Responsibilities: • Coordinate and direct company managers in post-accident handling of all claims, including workers' compensation, general liability, and auto. • Coordinate and monitor vocational rehabilitation. • Provide analysis on claims made, including cost, duration, and preventability, to safety partners, legal, and operations as requested. • Coordinate investigations and provide recommendations to prevent future occurrences. • Build and maintain relationships at all appropriate levels of management and control functions (e.g., legal and compliance) to share best practices and address common control or risk concerns, increasing management's understanding of emerging risks that impact their business. • Prepare and provide regular status reports to senior management concerning critical issues and significant concerns related to company risk. • Serve as the key liaison with third-party insurance and safety partners. • Ensure complete and accurate files of all related materials. • Perform other daily, weekly, and monthly duties as assigned. Required Skills and Qualifications: • Preferred minimum of 3-6 years' experience managing workers' compensation and high-value general liability claims. • Independent and self-motivated. • Strong understanding of insurance, workers' compensation, and claims investigations. • Highly organized with the ability to effectively prioritize and meet deadlines. • Excellent written and oral communication skills. • Excellent computer skills and software literacy. • Position will require travel, including overnights and weekends, up to 25%.
