About the position The Teaching Assistant position at Bellaire High School involves supporting teachers in delivering educational programs and services to students. The role includes assisting with classroom management, supervising students during various activities, and providing specialized assistance to students with special needs. The position is under direct supervision and requires an Educational Aide certificate. Responsibilities Assists teacher(s) with student academic goals by working with small groups or individual children. , Enforces classroom management and behavioral plans to create a conducive learning environment. , Supervises students during breakfast, recess, lunch, dismissal, and special events. , Prepares paperwork for the ARD/IEP process and collects data for special education reports. , Plans, prepares, and implements differentiated instruction for individual students and groups. , Performs other job-related duties as assigned. Requirements Educational Aide certificate as established by the State Board for Educator Certification. , Completion of at least two years of study at an institution of higher education (48 semester hours) or possess an associate's degree. , Demonstrate knowledge of reading, writing, and mathematics through a local academic assessment.
