Assistant Controller/ Accounting Manager

The Assistant Controller at Sprinkles Cupcakes will maintain the financial health and integrity of the company. This position involves preparing and analyzing financial statements, overseeing daily accounting operations, and maintaining compliance with internal controls and financial regulations. Perks of Working with Us: • Access full-time benefit options including Heath, Dental, Vision, Life, and 401K • Paid Time Off • Celebrate milestones with a robust anniversary program • Free Cupcakes • Various development and growth opportunities with defined career path • Closed on Thanksgiving & Christmas • Make a positive impact - Sprinkles partners with several charities and community organizations Key Responsibilities • Oversee daily accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger. • Ensure accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. • Monitor and manage company cash flow, including forecasting cash needs and ensuring adequate liquidity. • Oversee the reconciliation of bank statements. • Manage the month-end and year-end close process. • Assist in the preparation of budgets and forecasts. • Assist with internal and external audits, including preparation of audit schedules and responses to audit inquiries. • Ensure compliance with GAAP and other relevant financial regulations. • Participate in strategic planning and provide input on financial implications of business initiatives. • Supervise and mentor accounting team, providing guidance and support when needed. • Identify opportunities for process improvements and implement changes to enhance efficiency and effectiveness. • Prepare ad hoc reports and analyses as requested. • Collaborate with other departments to ensure alignment of financial goals and objectives. • Perform other duties as assigned to support the overall success of the organization. Skills & Knowledge • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience, preferably in the food and beverage industry • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or related fields. CPA certification preferred. • Experience in a managerial role is a plus. • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel. • Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and provide actionable insights. • Excellent written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. • High ethical standards and integrity in financial reporting and compliance.
