Communication Manager

Department The Center for Global Engagement Responsibilities ? Promote and showcase the programs and services of the Center for Global Engagement (CGE) to include the areas of International Student and Scholar Services, Global Exchanges, the Global Citizenship Certificate Program, the Disney Program and Intercultural Programs through a variety of digital and print media. Develop communication strategies which highlight program benefits, student accomplishments and opportunities for all FSU students to become globally engaged and increase intercultural competencies. ? Highlight upcoming programs, and student accomplishments through feature articles and photos in weekly Global Connections newsletter distributed to over 20,000 students, staff and faculty and community members to increase participation in programs offered by the CGE in support of campus internationalization. ? Develop social media campaigns for each of the CGE areas and maintain an engaging and effective social media presence for a variety of audiences. Redesign and enhance the CGE website to provide easy access and clear communication to internal and external audiences and ensure all content is current. Write and edit feature articles, news stories, press releases, brochures and information sheets for a variety of print and digital media. Supervise and mentor a social media intern and provide training opportunities. ? Create graphics for promotional pieces, social media posts and for TV monitors and ensure content is distributed throughout the academic colleges and departments. Serve as photographer for all key CGE events or ensure coverage by student staff. ? Participate in all major CGE and Division of Student Affairs events and programs. Serve on CGE, DSA or university-wide committees to include the FSU Communicators Network and the Division of Student Affairs (DSA) Marketing and Communication Committee. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and four years experience related to media, communications, and/or marketing services or a combination of post high school education and experience equal to eight years. Preferred Qualifications ? Master's degree in Communication, Marketing, or closely related field. ? Experience working in the field of Communication. ? Strong writing skills to generate newsletter, website and social media content. ? Experience generating content and managing social media accounts. ? Knowledge of marketing principles and ability to develop effective marketing strategies. ? Experience using Drupal for web design and maintenance. ? Experience using Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, InDesign, Illustrator), Canva, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud. ? Knowledge of photography.
