Processing Support Operator - 1st Shift

Our Home is seeking a skilled Processing Support Operator to join our team on 1st shift. This position is responsible for preparing cooked and mixed corn-based ingredients according to the production needs. Operators ensure all equipment used in cooking and mixing is operating safely, cleaned properly, and follows quality and safety practices standards. This role plays a key part in producing high-quality masa for our signature chips and crackers. This position's typical schedule works Monday - Friday 7:00AM - 3:30PM.

Responsibilities

• Operates kettles, steep tanks, corn washers, grinders, and mixers for both cooking and mixing processes.
• Scale and prepare raw ingredients following established batch sheets and production schedules.
• Monitor temperatures, cooking times, and mixing cycles to ensure consistency and safety.
• Complete all required production logs, batch records, and traceability paperwork.
• Follow FEFO practices and ensure no cross-contamination between batches.
• Maintain a clean and sanitary work area throughout the shift and perform deep cleaning per SSOP schedules.
• Coordinate with QA, Warehouse and Supervisors to ensure production flow and material availability.
• Troubleshoot basic equipment issues and escalate problems as needed.
• Train and support other team members in the cooking and mixing process.
• Participate in continuous improvement and uphold all safety and GMP protocols.
• All other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Requires basic reading, writing, and math skills
• Understanding of food safety and quality standards
• Valid Food Handlers Certificate
• Forklift certification is required
• Ability to work in a physically demanding environment (continuous standing, walking, lifting 50-80 lbs.)
• Team oriented with strong self-motivation and accountability
• Previous food manufacturing or batch processing experience preferred
