You will assist with direct patient care as directed, ensuring everyone feels comfortable and at ease throughout their appointment and exam. In this role, your ability to facilitate a welcoming environment can make a difference in the lives of Cleveland Clinic patients every day.A caregiver in this position works days 8:00AM – 5:00PM.A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Receive and prepare patients for examination or treatment.
• Perform initial patient examinations, ophthalmic testing procedures and routine screening tests.
• Assist physicians with examinations and procedures.
• Document patient information in their medical record.
• Perform clerical, stocking, maintenance and related duties.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED
• One year of experience in an ophthalmic setting providing direct patient care OR additional formal training in Ophthalmology
• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Manual dexterity to operate office equipment and PC.
• Ability to lift and transport up to 25 pounds.
• May require extended periods of standing, walking or sitting.
• Visual acuity, including the ability to distinguish colors.
