Previous applicants Must Reapply to be considered.Discover why NCDIT is the ideal destination for your professional growth - .The Internal Auditor I will work in the Information Systems and Controls Section of Office of Internal Audit (OIA) to promote the achievement of agency objectives by using a systematic approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of DIT's governance, risk management and control processes.Duties include, but are not limited, to:
- Performing research activities and develop an understanding of the area under review
- Planning, organizing and executing efficient risk-based audit programs and exercising limited judgment in evaluating audit results
- Conducting interviews and documenting processes and procedures
- Generating workpapers with sufficient, reliable, relevant and useful information to achieve engagement objectives and support audit conclusions
- Communicating the results of assurance and consulting projects via audit workpapers, written reports and presentations to management
- Demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and performance improvement including education toward obtaining and maintaining IT and audit related certifications
- Demonstrated knowledge of internal and/or government auditing standards and principles such as the IIA Standards (Red Book), GAGAS (Yellow Book), GAAP or GAAS
- Demonstrated knowledge of governance, risk management, internal controls, and/or laws and regulations
- Demonstrated knowledge of techniques utilized during internal audits or assessments
- Holding or pursuing professional designations such as CIA, CISA, CPA or CFE
- Familiarity with frameworks such as NIST, COBIT, ISO, COSO, or Green Book
- Experience using data analytics software such as ACL, IDEA, Power BI, or Tableau
