The ideal candidate will be a reliable and resourceful professional with a strong background in public relations, excellent planning abilities, and high emotional intelligence. ### Key Responsibilities: - Media Relations: - Assist in preparing press releases, media kits, and other materials to promote Southwest Airlines. - Build and maintain relationships with journalists, bloggers, and other media professionals. - Monitor media coverage and compile reports to track the effectiveness of PR campaigns. - Crisis Communication Support: - Support the team in managing crisis communication efforts by drafting messaging and communication plans. - Assist in the preparation of timely responses to inquiries from media and stakeholders during critical situations. - Content Creation: - Create compelling content for various communication channels, including the company website, social media, and internal newsletters. - Collaborate with design teams to develop visually appealing and effective communication materials. - Research and Analysis: - Conduct research on industry trends, competitor PR activities, and audience perceptions to inform strategic decisions. - Analyze the impact of public relations initiatives and suggest areas for improvement. - Event Coordination: - Assist in planning and organizing media events, press conferences, and promotional activities. - Coordinate logistics, attendance lists, and follow-up communication with attendees. - Stakeholder Engagement: - Support the development of internal communications strategies to keep employees informed and engaged. - Build strong relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure cohesive messaging across the organization. ### Requirements: - Education: - Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing, or a related field. - Experience: - Minimum of 3 years of experience in public relations, corporate communications, or a similar role. - Technical Skills: - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with PR software and tools. - Experience with social media platforms and content management systems. - Personal Traits: - Reliable: A consistent track record of meeting deadlines and delivering quality work. - Resourceful: Ability to find innovative solutions to challenges and effectively manage multiple tasks. - Soft Skills: - Planning: Strong organizational skills to manage schedules, tasks, and projects efficiently. - Emotional Intelligence: Exceptional interpersonal skills to effectively handle communications with diverse stakeholders and manage PR challenges with empathy. ### Benefits: - Relocation allowance for eligible candidates. - Company transportation options. - Employee discounts on travel and merchandise. ### Working Environment: At Southwest Airlines, we believe in recognizing and rewarding our employees based on performance and merit.
